Just spoke to mine and she's coming next week!

I am ridiculously happy at the prospect Grin. It feels like a tiny step in the 'back to normal' direction!

Mine came back 3 weeks ago, she did a double stint that week. I could have cried!

Divoc2020 · 03/07/2020 21:01

Yes, mine is coming twice next week to 'get back on top of things' (she knows my slatternly ways...)

Yes. Mine came back about 5 weeks ago. We are out when she's in though.

Absolute. Bliss.

Napqueen1234 · 03/07/2020 21:05

Yep I messaged her as soon as they were allowed ‘no pressure but if you’re coming back to work PLEASEEE START BACK AT OURS’. No excuse as I’m on mat leave but I love it!!

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/07/2020 21:08

No, but I'm desperate to.
I'm shielding and waiting to see what happens on 31st July.

BackforGood · 03/07/2020 21:37

Last week. It really was heavenly.
I love my cleaner.

BoogleMcGroogle · 03/07/2020 21:41

Our's came back four weeks ago. Back to work for me this week and I greatly appreciated her!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/07/2020 21:42

Mine never stopped!

Xiaoxiong · 03/07/2020 21:46

We were actually looking for a new cleaner just before lockdown, but had to wait until 4 weeks ago for a new cleaner to start. She is like an actual angel who has come into our lives spreading joy and happiness.

Chasingsquirrels · 03/07/2020 21:50

Mine gave notice a few weeks before lockdown (not COVID related).
14yo ds has taken over duties, at a reduced rate - and is doing a good job.

Beatrixpotterspencil · 03/07/2020 22:08

We did a Huge spring clean today.
Can’t imagine paying someone else to do something so easy and That gives us a good workout 😁

It’s so satisfying and weirdly like a kind of home-yoga.
You should give it a go.

WallsKOL · 03/07/2020 22:14

I never stopped
Can’t WFH go to work

Pipandmum · 03/07/2020 22:17

Back three weeks ago 🎉

SimonJT · 03/07/2020 22:18

Yes she is, she gave me a telling off when she saw the state of the place as well 😂

MissCalamity · 03/07/2020 22:26

Yes, she nipped round today and coming back on Tuesday - hooray!

Delatron · 03/07/2020 22:26

Mine came back a few weeks ago. We paid her throughout but bless her she stayed a few extra hours for the last couple of weeks trying to get on top of it..

BackforGood · 03/07/2020 23:09

You should give it a go.

I did, for the first 35 years of adult life. I suspect most people have tried cleaning their own homes.
In truth, it's something I've never enjoyed as a task, and, as I can now afford to treat myself, I prefer to treat myself by no longer having to do cleaning, over other ways of spending that money.

MarshaBradyo · 03/07/2020 23:10

Yes and it’s so nice

OhamIreally · 03/07/2020 23:31

Yes. I paid my cleaner throughout. She came back two weeks ago. It's clear she thinks it's necessary to get back on top of things but I've also done stuff in her absence like hoovering down the side of the bookcases. Great to have her back but I do feel guilty.

Parkmama · 03/07/2020 23:36

Not yet and it's awful!!!

40somethingJBJ · 04/07/2020 00:19

Mine cane back on Thursday morning. I’ve never been so happy to see anybody! I’m disabled and really struggle with cleaning behind furniture/changing beds etc, so she’s an absolute blessing.

Divoc2020 · 04/07/2020 12:33

@Beatrixpotterspencil - I have 'given it a go' many times in my life, thanks!

If everyone in the household i.e. DH + young adults would 'give it a go' in equal amounts then we probably wouldn't need to bother, but since this hasn't worked sufficiently well during lockdown I've said I want her back, and if it means that we won't spend £50 on a Friday night takeaway then so be it!

No thanks. Been there, done that, no desire to do it again if I can afford not to

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/07/2020 12:41

I hate cleaning and hoovering/mopping kills my back so I'd prefer to pay someone to do it for me, besides, I miss chatting to my cleaner, we are really good friends

fadingfast · 04/07/2020 17:27

We haven't had ours back yet, although I know she is working for others. There are four of us all trying to work at home and it world be logistically difficult to keep out of her way when she comes. I'd quite like to try and make it work soon though, as I'm fed up of trying to keep on top of everything. She only usually comes once a fortnight. I've continued paying throughout as I felt too guilty to stop.
