I know I could google, but I've been busy all week at work so thought I'd ask here.

My friend has invited me dinner on Saturday, just her and her children. Can I go?

When I say 'busy', I'm using that to explain why I'm not up to date with the latest 'Covid' rules. 🤣

Yes. Two households of any size can meet indoors but social distancing is still encouraged.

usernotfound0000 · 02/07/2020 18:48

From Saturday that should say.

Bol87 · 02/07/2020 18:48

Yes you can!

Hurrah!

Lindy2 · 02/07/2020 18:51

Yes but preferably you will sit outside. It's safer that way.

You must also social distance ie 2m apart at all times and that includes the kids. If you risk being inside open the windows.

Personally I would only meet a friend outside right now. I'm erring on the cautious side but from Saturday you can meet inside if you are distancing. Will the kids be able to do that?

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 02/07/2020 19:50

Thanks everyone, the kids will be able too SD no problem (teenager and a baby)

@Lindy it is 1m from Saturday

emmathedilemma · 02/07/2020 19:56

Depends where you live, you can't in Scotland until 10th July.

Jenasaurus · 02/07/2020 20:01

I think its the 1 meter plus rule, so 1 meter as long as wearing a mask or outside, and 2 meter if inside, I think...to be honest I may have got this wrong so maybe google is your friend :)

rainbowunicorn · 02/07/2020 21:53

The 1 meter thing is actually 1 meter plus. The default should still be 2 meters where possible reducing to no less than 1 meter where 2 meters is not possible.
It is worrying the amount of people that don't seem to be able to comprehend this. It is really quite clear in the guidance. It was never intended to be a to hell with it we only have to be 1 meter apart in any situation with no other measures in place to counter the risk.

lljkk · 02/07/2020 22:04

Fkng guidance changes constantly.
I can keep up with 'Keep away from people' but don't ask me for specifics that change every few days. For that reason I won't care how close others get to me, either.

Well we did it ... a day early (sorry Boris!) and a jolly fab evening it was too.

A couple of glasses of red, dinner made by someone other than me and time with my best friend.

Good for the soul!
