What else is in circulation?

I've not been well since Sunday. Bad headache, nausea, no appetite, extremely tired, then aching all over, temperature of 38+ for 48 hours (Sun night to Tue night).

I had a Covid test on Monday morning, which has come back negative. But what else is circulating, and how could I have caught anything really, with all the care and distancing we have been doing?

Im still exhausted today, and have slept most of the middle part of the day. And randomly I now just feel like crying. I'm missing such an important week on my main project at work, and it just feels ridiculous not to be able to throw off this minor (not Covid) bug.

No answers, but I have got the cold, which seems odd. Since March I have been WFH, never take public transport anyway, have been to the supermarket and post office, but using hand sanitiser, wearing a mask, keeping a distance etc. Only really seen DP who I live with and is also at home/doing the same as me.

I guess all the usual bugs are knocking about, just that the chances of catching them are less? We haven’t done any washing of shopping or keeping post aside or anything, but we are washing our hands endlessly. I am a face toucher though, and often rub my eyes because I wear contact lenses/have terrible hayfever.

I also did a negative test, but tbh it is all in my nose/sinuses so I was pretty confident it wasn’t C-19. (The Zoe app suggested I test.)

I’ve also been ill, typically the week my DD went back to nursery obvs. 🥴 felt like a typical summer cold. Very congested, extremely painful sinuses, dizzy on & off, sore throat and slightly more oddly, totally exhausted (although I do have a 15 week old, so that could explain the excessive tiredness). I had a Covid test that was negative. Wasn’t surprised as none of the main symptoms.

Viruses haven’t gone away. Do you go shopping? Have kids? Get coffee from a local cafe? Takeouts? Amazon deliveries? All sources of germs .. normally we wouldn’t think twice but these days ..

Rest up OP. Hope you feel much better soon!

Everything that is normally in circulation is still there and can still be caught, if you are unlucky enough.

My mother is just out of hospital after suffering non-covid related pneumonia (tested negative in hospital). My father seems to have it too. Both have been shielding since the start of lockdown.

The problem is that the only thing we seem allowed to discuss and have as an issue at the moment is Covid 19. The media and the general public act as if nothing else exsists any longer, as does the government.

That isn't true of course, and the NHS is still open for business for these things, although much of it was re-purposed for covid patients.
