I'm Going For A Test

I've got a raised temp,headache and sore-ish throat.
I'm NHS so work have said I need to go for a test which I totally agree with. I was actually due a routine test next week.
Im actually quite nervous! Not of the results but of the actual test! People at work have said how horrible it is but I like to think they are being dramatic 😬
Just posting on here while I wait for an appointment and thought maybe I could report back honestly what the test really feels like😊

Its ok, I have a strong gag reflex so gagged a bit when scrapping the tonsils / back of throat, but its all over in 10 seconds.
You'll be fine. Hope all is ok.

It's not horrible,just slightly uncomfortable when twirling the bud on the back of your throat/ tonsils if you have them (I don't). Up the nostrils is no big deal,just do it carefully.
Some people like to (over)dramatise.

It is not pleasant, the swabs are shoved down your nose and throat much further than is comfortable, but its not the end of the world and over quickly. Take a tissue to wipe you watery eyes.

The antigen test was fine for me. I thought the nostril swab would be painful after seeing how deep it is inserted, it wasn’t. Was quite uncomfortable though - it made me uncontrollably sneeze several times in a row.

It's the perfect procedure to dramatise: moderately unpleasant, can provoke a physical reaction (sneeze/gag) but actually no worse than a blood sugar test and not in the same league as, say, my bikini wax is going to be when I finally take my neanderthal body to my ruthless waxer.

My test was fine , a wee gag after the first throat swab, second was fine, I did my own nose swab, made my eyes water a wee bit, test came back negative after 2 days.

I've had it, it was fine. The throat one was good, no gag, the nose one was uncomfortable but not painful. The lady told me to push back on my headrest which was a good tip. Made my eyes water but nowhere near as bad as people have made out. 24 hour wait for results now.
