So what do people think will be said?

@Beebityboo and others this is really useful with particular reference made to children and adults hugging:

Arcadia · 23/06/2020 14:33

I've been hugging a couple of friends briefly and carefully for a few weeks now! Not my Mum yet as she is over 70 but we're going to follow these Guidelines as she lives alone and it is not fair for her to have no physical contact indefinitely and I live closest!

Solasum · 23/06/2020 14:34

No mention of holiday childcare. I can’t be the only working parent thinking ‘And????‘

Arcadia · 23/06/2020 14:34

So is the distance reduced for schools too? They seem to be prioritising pubs over education! Children have been forgotten in all this.

Arcadia · 23/06/2020 14:35

I'm with you @Solasum no idea how we're going to manage over summer as local holiday club decided they couldn't run under government guidelines - they may regret that decision now.

bigchris · 23/06/2020 14:36

@WhiteChocTwix nail bars can open july 4th same day as hairdressers

2beautifulbabs · 23/06/2020 14:36

Lucky everyone in England
Wales it's all bloody different still can't see family if they live further than the shitty 5 mile rule and we still haven't been allowed any social bubbles starting to get well pissed off with our government

bigchris · 23/06/2020 14:36

He said schools ae going back full time in September

Bol87 · 23/06/2020 14:39

Let’s face it, plenty of people won’t stick to the no hugging rule! I think one hug upon greeting if you are staying for a week isn’t going to harm. Just don’t sit cuddling your parents watching TV if that’s your thing .. sit on different sofas, they’ll be naturally a metre apart in most houses!

Honestly @Beebityboo - just let your kids see their grandparents outdoors if possible. My mum is shielding but is going to take the measures risk of seeing my 3 year old in her garden from 6th July. We’ll be having a little chat about only hugging legs and not holding Nanny’s hand but otherwise, she’ll just play alongside her. After we leave, my mum will wash her clothes, hands and any toys.

Bluesheep8 · 23/06/2020 14:40

I've been hugging a couple of friends briefly and carefully for a few weeks now!

And I've been keeping 2 metres apart from people. For over 3 months.

okiedokieme · 23/06/2020 14:42

My beautician friend is in tears, she's close to having to go bankrupt, she needs to reopen but is banned still - she like so many is going to have to work under the radar. How is waxing legs worse than clipping heads???

Stellakent · 23/06/2020 14:44

You're allowed to travel in England, including on public transport. I'm in London and they're asking people to avoid rush hour if possible, but anyone can travel. I took a train to visit a friend yesterday and a local bus yesterday.

AnyFucker · 23/06/2020 14:44

Anything about public toilets ?

Stellakent · 23/06/2020 14:45

Anyfucker public toilets are starting to open in some areas; the ones in my local park were open yesterday for the first time in many weeks. I guess it will depend on local councils.

FrugiFan · 23/06/2020 14:52

Public toilets are open in many places already. They were open in our local park all through lockdown, and in the town centre and beaches since beginning of June. I dont think there is actually a rule about them being closed, it's just up to each council or whoever owns them.

Beebityboo · 23/06/2020 14:52

So no social distancing etc in schools from September?

peekaboob · 23/06/2020 15:00

@bigchris nail bars are not allowed to reopen.

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2020 15:01

Bug change.org and swim England have petitions out already! They had designed a pan for double lane swimming.
It's the only activity where you breathe into a solution that kills the virus.

Yet you can go swimming but can go to pub and be 1m away from a totally stranger Hmm

Glittertwins · 23/06/2020 15:06

The swimming pools not being allowed to re-open has really pissed us off.
It was all to do with changing rooms so Swim England worked on how this could go ahead - not ideal but they could still open. How can swimming be more risky than a bunch of people on a pub or in an enclosed squash court as they are allowed to open.
Praying for yet another U turn under pressure

slartibarti · 23/06/2020 15:11

Pubs opening on Sat 4 July Shock Would have been better to wait till the Monday.
Likely to be lots of DM pics of drunken louts fighting and falling about.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 23/06/2020 16:06

I strongly suspect that within a couple of weeks of pubs and stuff reopening then the rest of the restrictions will get lifted - with just the proviso about staying alert and taking extra precautions
Scottishgirl85 · 23/06/2020 16:31

Daily briefings also coming to an end too!

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2020 16:43

Yeah just read that Scottish on FB in a response to Adam Peaty calljng for pools to open.

So he's not yet open Ed everything but won't be doing briefings now.

ineedaholidaynow · 23/06/2020 16:44

They will do briefings when necessary.

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2020 16:44

And with regards pools our club is lucky to have an infection control nurse as a parent. They are also confused!
