I keep hearing the phrase “limited numbers” re weddings in next phase. Am due to attend a wedding mid August it’s outdoors for ceremony but Indoors for everything else. 100+ people. Bride and groom are armament it is going ahead. What’s the chances and has anyone seen anything number wise as what number is the limited number? Feel so sorry for them

guidance

We were due to get married in Scotland in August. 80+ people. We cancelled not long after lockdown. I feel sorry for your b&g but they're living in cloud cuckoo land.

Not happening.

second time my links haven't worked properly today!

The First Minister is being extremely cautious (and slow) in the unlocking from lockdown, so it is unlikely the wedding will be anything near normal.

Fairenuff · 19/06/2020 18:40

It's not allowed.

BoxAndKnife · 19/06/2020 18:43

Do they live in Scotland, OP? Surely they know it's not going to happen really?

Passthebubbly · 19/06/2020 18:47

Yes we are all in Scotland. Just feel so sorry for them as they are clinging on to hope that everything will change by mid August as weddings can go ahead this week with limited numbers. Nobody can get clarification on what number it is though. Poor souls.

It’s not going to happen with those numbers. Possibly immediate family but no they have false hope. Or they are waiting for venue to cancel rather than them having to do it

Passthebubbly · 19/06/2020 19:00

I assume that is what they are doing bumble yes but I think there hopes have went up with the alert level dropping and Scotland moving to phase 2.

What a shame, nothing wrong with hope.but I can't see it going ahead although who knows what NS will do. So confused about being able to drive anywhere to see family and go inside and have a wee but cant go more than 5 miles when don't want to see anyone or go in anyone's house. Sorry hijacked your thread but am really annoyed.

My Scottish friends have put off their August wedding till August 2021, a massive relief for us and many other guests travelling from the South of England and the Midlands. They didn’t say but I think they had to wait for the venue to offer that as an alternative or lose their deposit.
