Just curious--any predictions?

I agree those things would be good @meditrina. Sadly I am not hopeful, especially on the environment :(

There are some proper doom-mongers on here tonight.

@FizzFan

I agree with most of that *@Lemonmaid* but why do people keep saying this as if it was fact

The world will hsve changed forever.

I don’t think it will, in a few years this will all be forgotten about or at least firmly in the past and we’ll be back to normal. Even if there’s a massive depression with long term effects that still won’t be “forever”.’

I agree @FizzFan , just perhaps a temporarily chsnged world. In a few years this will all be largely forgotten about and we'll have moved on. I just hope nothing like it happens again but who knows.

I agree it won't be a "normal" winter here. Very likely lots of testing and self-isolating will be needed. It worries me as a household with two teachers and two primary-aged kids. There are a lot of colds and coughs during winter that we can usually carry on as normal with but which will now require testing every time. Having already had to do a self-test on a 10 year old, it's not easy and also highly unlikely to be done well enough to be accurate. Hope they come up with an easier test. I'm not sure how schools will manage with staff absence, certainly not if they keep up a "bubble" system.

I agree it will be more subdued than normal, but I'm another Scrooge who's pleased that it should be easy to get out of the work Christmas party this year!

I think it's going to be another cold and dark winter. Other than that nothing special. We will all have moved on by then, adopting some form of social distancing in the background of what would be the new normal. Will not stay obsessed with corona for much longer.
