It's not Track and Trace...

...it's Test and Trace. They test someone, if they test positive, then they trace all their close contacts (hopefully not many).

Track and Trace is the same thing, it's like saying Seek and Look for, the whole point is that they are testing people first!

Anyway. I know it's not really important but I keep seeing it wrong all over the place and it's starting to bug me!

I thought Track and Trace was to do with the (non-existent) app? Tracking people on the app, whose contacts will then be traced if they test positive for cv.

The track bit was meant was meant to be the app, it was originally Test, Track & Trace. With the app tracing movements/possible contacts. At one point they were saying Test & Trace but it has just got ridiculously confused with the absence of the app.

It’s more like Guess and Grope. They can’t even contact a quarter of those who test positive. Complete cluster.

That’s either because the people tested have given incorrect contact details, or because they don’t respond.

Someone who is working in the service said that the initial contact is by text and/or email. If the person doesn’t go to the online service in response to that, then they call them. They try four times over a 48-hour period, and then they stop trying.

Because, you know, idiots citizens who should be sitting at home because they are infected have the right not to engage with a system which is trying to prevent other people from being infected, and allow the rest of the country to regain more of its normality.
