To stay over??

Has anyone stayed over at a friend's house since measures have been eased? I know its still not currently allowed but just interested.

I'm at a friend's house now. Came yesterday. As I live alone I have bubbled up with her family. After 12 weeks home alone it's a bit of sensory overload to be around a family with small kids.

Am going to work from here for a few days instead of working from home at my house. Am told it's calmer during the week as the youngest is back at school and homeschooling routine is pretty well established.

Are you/they living alone?

I believe it now now permitted if this is the case, otherwise, no.

We had a single friend stay over lastnight. He has joined my DH and my 'bubble'. I think this is allowed, because he is single & lives alone.

Presumably 'saving lives' is only important if it's CV-related then. Not if the OP is struggling with MH issues, a child who has SEN or something else? You're now allowed to bubble up with a friend if you're a SP anyway.

Perhaps after months of being home alone you wish to see someone who lives too far away to visit in a day. Or you want to support someone who has struggled with their mental health or a bereavement during lockdown.

You may have coped fine but that doesn't mean everyone has.

solo well given the state of the decimated NHS I would suggest saving lives is actually an incredibly low priority for the government. Treating COVID, and maybe stopping people dying from COVID - a single disease - is what they are doing, but given the number of non COVID deaths that will result from this governments actions I think that is actually now the very least of our worries.

I'm so confused. @Choux are we allowed to bubble up with another family? I thought it was one single person with another single person? The rules are so confusing! Glad you've managed to have a change of scenery! I have a baby who my parents have met once (they live 6 hours away) prior to lockdown and I'm really struggling. I need a break so badly!

A single adult household, so can include children under 18, can bubble up with another household, which doesn’t have to be a single adult one. You can only have one of these support bubbles, so no mixing with other households.

The support bubble means you can go into their house and even sleepover.

Ah I've just read that on BBC! Last week it was saying one single person to another single person and now a single person to a household! Good news!
