Test results in 12 hours!

Not much point to this post other than it’s something positive. Had a test at 10.45am yesterday & was emailed the results at 10.59pm last night! So a smidge over 12 hour turn around! I’m honestly very impressed. I was expecting 48 hours & to be stuck inside all weekend!

My test was negative.

Just thought it was something positive to share after a lot of doom & gloom about track & trace! At least if even 50% of people know within 12 hours, that’s helpful!

Same as ours, twelve hours. Am negative so back to normal today!! With a tickly cough though

Gwenhwyfar · 14/06/2020 09:50

For the people I know it's taking 3 days.

That's good. DD ordered a home test last Saturday, it arrived Tuesday, was collected by courier Wednesday and she got the results on Friday night, so 6 days between requesting a test and getting the results.

Good job it was negative!

I think they need to rethink the home testing kits because the turnaround is far too slow. I'm also not convinced the results are reliable on self-administered tests because it's not an easy sample to take from yourself.

Me too. Attended a drive in test session yesterday for a 8.30am to 9am slot. Received a text at 17.53 with my negative result.

9 hours.

Fair to say they're not overwhelmed at the moment.

And yes, results are sent out at weekends. DS who does IT stuff reckons that whoever does the testing scans your barcode which is attached to your sample and it automatically generates the text, whatever the time of day or night.

same here,
negative for antibodies after 24 hours.

yomommasmomma · 14/06/2020 13:04

Yup our was exactly 24 hours later. The drive in test centres seem to be much quicker....for obvious reasons. Great system I think, we were very impressed with the ease and speed of the service

Mummyshark2018 · 14/06/2020 13:37

24 hours for me and 36 for dc- not sure why the difference as we tested together. But was impressed anyway as thought it would be at least 3 days.
