Just a word of warning if you need to take a child to be swab tested; take someone with you

I just had to hold down my one year old with my knees, hold down arms with my arm, depress his tongue and swab tonsils while he's gagging for 15 seconds THEN shove the swab up his nose and poke around there for 15 seconds

All HIGHLY stressful, not to mention not contaminating the swab and then sticking all the right labels in the right places - I'm so glad it's all over

OMG, 15 seconds is a long time. That sounds traumatic for the both of you. Flowers

I was determined to get it right so we don't get an inconclusive test but it's definitely THE worst thing I've ever done, it's like holding a child's head underwater while they struggle HORRIBLE

But at least it's only a cotton bud there's absolutely no pain involved

Just don't try it on your own, you need someone to drive and sort out all the stickers and labels

I was thinking this.

I had a test and it was awful. I gagged, and it being up my nose for so long made me feel like my nose was burning.

I remember think I hope I don't have to take the kids.

If you were at a testing station, don't the staff do the swab? I thought the self tests were sent to your home to do?

Not all test stations have trained equipped staff so you're handed the pack and taken through the instructions via phone with the person standing outside your car
