Google sneaking their tracking app onto Android phones, it seems.

No, you can't remove it.

Well it appears to be there but isn't actually tracking anything unless I download an app

It's not so much what it does or how it does it. It's that it appeared from nowhere without any details Like the software equivalent of a Sports Direct mug.

But if it's not doing anything why does it matter if its there?

I haven't checked mine but seeing as I always have bluetooth and location services switched off in I don't think it is a problem.

They have not done any such thing. What you have is not a tracking app and if you bothered to read the information on there you would be able to see that.

If you are going to post information at least take the time to educate yourself a bit about what you are actually saying. That way there will be far fewer lies and conspiracy theories flying around.

Apple did the same with their latest update, I think it is called an api and works with the Apple Google App when you download it. I doubt it will work with our NHS app. You can turn it of once you have the app by the look of it, well you can with Apple
