When are you going back to the office?

I’m starting a new job (Civil Service) and trying to gauge how long I’ll be WFH for!

Don’t know about the CS

We don’t have to go back to the office until Jan 2021

we have been given no indication so far.

University Professional Services staff here, told not to expect to go back this side of Christmas if social distancing is still in force. Students and teaching staff may go back beforehand if face to face teaching can start up in the Autumn term.

University here and been told to expect to WFH until social distancing restrictions are lifted. Some will go back in where they need access to systems and labs etc but as I can fully WFH I don't expect to be back this year.

I think it will be January 2021 for us too. As long as we are able to work at home, that's what we've been told to do for the foreseeable.

By the end of June on a rota basis. By the sound of it we'll be spending most of our time lugging equipment and paperwork back and forth from home to office and back again and cleaning (office, toilets and kitchen at least 3 times a day) What a waste of time!

Yes we’ve been told not before January too

CS here and WFH is for the foreseeable. The department I’m in can’t claim back WFH expenses unless they are over our normal travel costs

Back already except those shielding.

I'm back next week but dh's Company has said that some of them will be wfh until the end of the year so they'll not be back until January.

Until a vaccine is available.
I don't want govt to invest in any vaccine unless it clearly protects for at least one year.
won't know that until June 2021 at earliest.
Need a few months to make enough doses.
Might take a few months to vaccinate the 20 million most vulnerable people.

You do the math... I'm thinking Dec 2021-April 2022.

We’ve also completed a survey where a lot of people put that they wanted to wfh indefinitely - either full-time home worker or 3/4 days pw at home.

Client facing staff won’t be able to do that, but interesting to see what they put in place for the rest of us.

This is a professional services firm with 10k+ employees and 20+ offices in the UK.

I’m due Dec 2020, so all being well, I may not return to the office until January 2022!

Some people are saying they are never going back. Don’t know what to think!

DH has been posted away with the military until the end of the year, we’ve requested married quarters at the new location and I can WFH. It’ll be 3 hours away from the office but if I have to WTH until January that would be perfect!
