Face coverings help!

I've got an appointment at the doctors today and the nurse said on the phone do I have a face covering? Like a scarf etc I said yes.

How do I turn the scarf into a face covering? How am I supposed to get it to stay up? Its making me panic a bit. If anyone can tell me how they do it, I'd really appreciate it

I fold my large square cotton scarf in half to make a triangle, put it over my nose, pass it round just under my ears, over my pony tail, tie a knot, then bring the ends back under my chin and tie another knot.
