Private Hospitals

Does anyone know if private hospitals are accepting referrals yet?

I have a cyst on my ankle that's started causing a lot of pain and I don't know whether it's worth asking my GP for a referral or not yet. I can barely walk sometimes so I want to get something done ASAP.

I'm not sure NHS helpfully booked private hospital beds which weren't needed. I would get the referral anyway then you can at least get the ball rolling. I know a few people who are having their treatment privately that has gone ahead

Some private hospitals are taking on patients again but others are limiting it to cancer and cardiology
The best thing to do is contact your local ones and see if they are seeing patients for your speciality
If you have private med insurance authorisations should be given as usual as the insurance companies are just waiting on the hospitals taking the patients

The NHS shouldn't have been allowed to block out private hospitals until actually needed. Annoying. Anyway I've noticed Spire have restarted their GP service which given my NHS Gp appears to have closed its doors is probably as well

I was referred privately in April (by private doc) but still no appointment.
