Bubbles with under 5 yr olds & testing

Have just been looking at NHS website, and seems that under 5s are not being swabbed under ‘test and trace’. I assume that means if any of those children get covid symptoms then they won’t be tested but the whole bubble/class has to isolate for 14 days instead. Whereas for symptoms in a 5 yr old case, the bubble would just isolate whilst awaiting result (assuming negative). Are any schools not taking back 4 yr olds? Otherwise, I can envisage YR returning and whole class isolating for 2 weeks all the time.

They are now testing under 5s so it will just be until the result is in.

I think the under 5s thing is about not having home testing, because it's hard to do. I don't know about availability of the testing, but it's possible to get tests, maybe at the hospital.

@Eeyoresstickhouse thanks- I’ve just re-looked and seems the under 5s issue is Scotland and NI, whilst England/Wales will swab any age.
