It may be worth checking what the actual numbers are as in the uk they let them get very high before treatment. (Though if say you have fast heart rate it may be more likely low as hyperthyroid).
It said with this thyroiditis it is hyper for a while weeks to months then hypo. (A bit like pregnancy).
Ive already got a thyroid issue so it's possible this has made mine worse.

QuarantineQueen · 08/06/2020 17:26

Can i join you? I've been unwell since the first week in March and I'm starting to think I'll never be well again.

Mittens030869 · 08/06/2020 18:17

@QuarantineQueen Of course! Your experience sounds exactly like mine, it's so shitty, isn't it? It certainly does feel like it won't go away. There have also been quite a few 'false dawns' that mess with my head. Thanks

Lightsabre · 08/06/2020 18:26

@ShastaBeast, great to hear your news and hopefully you'll get back to exercising soon.

@QuarantineQueen, welcome. What has your experience of this horrible virus been...

KatySun · 08/06/2020 18:28

Thank you for the information on ‘energy windows’. And of course I should have realised the heart rate graph came from a FitBit Millstone. I have been looking at these online to buy one.

Hello QuarantineQueen sorry to hear you are in the long haul boat as well. It is rubbish Flowers.
This thread is a very good resource.

Yesterday I was so tired I fell asleep in the afternoon and was very early in bed. Today has been a bit better - I managed two hours of work this morning before my chest and back started hurting, and an hour this afternoon before the nausea started and then I was so tired I could not even speak. I wanted to do a bit of weeding today as well and that has not happened.

Moodgie · 08/06/2020 18:36

@Keepdistance I had thyroid included in the tests - all fine. (I had most of it removed 19 years ago as well but whatever is left seems to be functioning fine.)

Moodgie · 08/06/2020 18:37

@QuarantineQueen First week of March for me too.

ShastaBeast · 08/06/2020 18:43

Caught up and saw lots of GERD reported. I have this, but it was worse when other symptoms were present. I had a hard, bloated tummy at the top just below the ribs. Turned out I have gallstones but unsure if it’s causing the bloating and reflux.

SunshineCake · 08/06/2020 18:47

I think I had the virus back in March and for the last few days I have been coughing a bit more and with the same kind of chest ache and back pain I had when I was laid up in bed for two weeks. I filled in the online form but with no persistent cough, temperature or lack of taste it says I don't have the virus. Occasionally I feel a bit yucky stomach wise.

I feel a little bit scared as well as worried as I need to walk my dog though I aren't going anywhere shopping, etc.

QuarantineQueen · 08/06/2020 19:04

It's been so awful. I passed out from coughing but was told to stay home unless I turned blue... then got a bit better, then a secondary infection and two lots of antibiotics. After 8 weeks I started to get better for a couple of days and be well enough to play with DD(3) or do a bit of work from home and then go downhill again for another week.
Now I'm worried about never being well enough to go back to work fully or drive or do housework. Sorry to hear everyone else has had a similarly shitty time :(
Does the chest pain ever go?

Mittens030869 · 08/06/2020 19:15

It sounds very much like what I went through, though I didn't quite pass out. I've been ill since 21st Feb. My DH called 999 twice and my oxygen level was low but now low enough for hospital. I was actually given the choice once, but that frustrated me, because how are we supposed to know? My DH had to check how bad I was, it was horrible for him.

The way I see it, I'm better than I was. I just sometimes feel that I don't know if I'm going to get better. I already had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I don't feel much optimism at times. I'm having a chest X-ray on Friday so I'm hoping I'm going to know more.

I'm so sorry you've been through what you have. It helps to know that I'm not alone, but I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else. And yes, I know what you mean, that it's just so soul destroying. Thanks

Ernieshere · 08/06/2020 19:33

@Norugratsatall

I still have the same tinnitus from day 1 as well, I think I am on 13 weeks.

The past 3 days have been absolutely awful.
Fatigue, chest pains & rib pain.

Are we hoping that we can book in with a G.P soonish for an Antibody test or will it be harder than I think?

Egghead68 · 08/06/2020 20:12

I had a good day today (day 79/80). Long time since I’ve been able to say that!

Needsomegoodies · 08/06/2020 20:29

Great to hear @egghead68 - every good day is a small win!

I’ve had about 5 days now with annoying variable heart symptoms - palpitations, sudden sort of individual thud feelings, buzzy sensation over my heart, left shoulder pain etc it comes and goes but I’ve had moments where I’m wondering if I’m going to have a heart attack. I haven’t felt like that since a few weeks ago. The only thing reassuring is that apart from the thuds, it is a returning symptom and it went away eventually for a bit. It’s making sleep pretty tricky so feel even more exhausted. I eagerly await the next peak - surely it’ll be here soon and hopefully will stick around one of these days..

Moodgie · 08/06/2020 20:41

@Ernieshere My GP said they would be available at our surgery 2-3 weeks he thought.

AndsLee · 08/06/2020 21:03

@ShastaBeast My lingering symptoms are gastric (I think). Exactly the same stomach symptoms. It's easing off now, though still quite solid and tight. Probiotics made all the difference. I can eat most dairy, but too much milk is a no no. (Never been an issue before). Also, bread doesn't sit well. For a while eggs too, but can eat them again now...

fedupofbed · 08/06/2020 21:23

Hooray @Egghead68 !

I've had a strange evening as my oesophagus symptoms have suddenly gone through the roof. I can't seem to burp. Food was okay but everything I drink seems to get regurgitated and stuck in my oesophagus - very painful and uncomfortable. When I just tried to drink through it I threw up (sorry, bit gross). Think I'll have to call the doctors again in the morning as I can't seem to get any drink down. Has anybody else had similar? My upper tummy area is also rock hard @ShastaBeast .

Honestly this illness is like some alien possession. No other symptoms at the moment though - it just moves around my body causing havoc.

AndsLee · 08/06/2020 21:33

@fedupofbed

Yeah, some regurgitation, but nothing like you are describing... I feel my food sits in my chest though. Been wondering if I have a hernia on account of this lump on the right side of my abdoman.

OP posts:
fedupofbed · 08/06/2020 21:48

It's highly unpleasant and a bit scary when I was being sick. But hey I get a break from the other crappy symptoms.

Sorry that you're suffering with the cardio symptoms @Needsomegoodies and @Ernieshere 13 weeks of tinnitus sounds horrific 💐.

@AndsLee hope you can get your lump checked out.

Whatnext2018 · 08/06/2020 21:54

HI all,

Got my results today and wanted to see if anyone had similar.

Ct head scan came back clear (thank god 🙏) aside from showed sinus inflammation, doc didn’t seem concerned or give me anything for it.

Rest of the blood tests clear also-thyroid etc.

Neck x-ray shows slight arthiritis 😒 wear and tear older than my age apparently.
Since I had my daughter almost two years ago, I’ve had a stiff neck on and off due to the way I sit and lie when bfing etc, but these last few weeks, it’s all come to s head apparently, he said it explains weakness in hands, tingling, legs etc. I see an oesteopath next week.
Does anyone know if this is post viral and could go? I’m just amazed its progressed so quickly in just three weeks. Has anyone seen any similar stories? Am so hoping is post viral and will go..feeling very old..!

Gunner30 · 08/06/2020 21:56

Thanks all, so many of you all supported me when I felt really bad and very low, so wanted to give something back. I'll keep you posted on the appointment and hopefully any feedback will be helpful.

@Lightsabre my throat has been constantly swollen for around 8 weeks and only in the last few weeks have I stopped losing my voice. I'm asthmatic, but still needing my inhalers more than I used too, so sounds similar. The chest pains went about a month ago and other than the throat I feel pretty good. @Moominmamma33 14 march was when my symptoms started too and sounds like we are on a similar path, so glad you are feeling better.

@Crayfishforyou, @Rosesofeyam and @fedupofbed Sorry to hear that you are still struggling, I hope you can shake the remaining symptoms soon. At least the doctors seem to be realising that the virus can affect people in many different ways and hopefully that will help in working out the best treatments for all of us.

Take care and wishing you all a speedy recovery. X

Egghead68 · 08/06/2020 22:00

Welcome @QuarantineQueen. Sorry you have to be here.

@whatnext2018 great news that most of your tests were normal. Sorry about your neck. I haven’t heard of covid causing bone problems but who knows with this illness. I hope the osteopath is helpful.

Flowers to everyone suffering at the moment.

findingschools4myboys · 08/06/2020 22:08

I haven’t read all the posts on this thread but remember seeing lots of people mention digestion issues. I had some issues during the height of my autonomy and then it has come on and off in waves. Mainly off. But for 4/5 days I now have really bad indigestion. I am bloated from the morning, feel full, and if I eat I get nausea. I am also getting heartburn, feeling it during day as well as it rising up my throat when I lay down for bed. Might be totally unrelated but just remember seeing several people saying similar?
I am day - I don’t know - roughly 13 weeks post first symptoms.

AndsLee · 08/06/2020 22:13

@Whatnext2018
Great news most of your tests had a positive outcome!

@fedupofbed - I'm sure my GP will diagnose anxiety and not bother looking. I do however have a telephone appointment with a CPN tomorrow. It's laughable, isn't it?

What’s the name of the group on Facebook for long term sufferers please? Does anyone know, I remember seeing it on here and went on, but now can’t remember it.
