@Whatnext2018 I have the ringing in the ears too. I'm 13 weeks and have realised that the ear ringing has been one of the most persistent things for me. Usually it's quite low level but I do get sudden bursts of it which seem to come from nowhere

TiddleTaddleTat · 15/06/2020 10:53

@MillStone I think the main symptom of POTS is an increase in heart rate of 30 bpm from sitting to standing. I had this before I started taking a low dose of beta blockers, now the increase is lower.

AndsLee · 15/06/2020 11:01

I'm not convinced that the SOB is post viral. What's everyone's thoughts?

After 13 days of feeling ok, Sat and Sun I had episodes of SOB. Nothing major, I could potter, go for a walk, but still there.

Rash is going on my hands, but I am wondering if that's more to do with handwashing...

@Whatnext2018 - the ringing in the ears on and off sounds familiar. Are you still experiencing SOB?

Morning all. Flowers

@TiddleTaddleTat Yes it seems to come and go but only really started a few days ago 🤔

@AndsLee I never really had sob so much (hate saying that as don’t want to jinx anything!) I didn’t have the cough etc but some tightness and possibly a ‘kind’ of shortness of breath back in March, I noticed it felt strange when I used to read a story to my Dd, hard to explain 🤔
My symptoms have been more of the tingling/numbness, heart and shaky weird anxiety stuff I’d say.

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 12:05

@AndsLee Sorry its come back, but it seems better to have longer inbetween symptoms? Hopefully that means it’s foonh away? How many weeks are you now?

Do most of you now notice it only comes every two weeks? How many days do you then suffer for again? I’m going to start noting it all down and see if there’s a pattern. I was feeling ok..ish, but on Friday, the adrenaline and faster hr came back and Sat wasn’t great, yesterday a bit better and let’s see.

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 12:08

Another thing I’ve noticed is I’ve started feeling cold sometimes? There has been a cooler wind the last few days, but I’m in Portugal fgs and have found myself putting a big jumper on in the house 🤷‍♀️

CatherineCawood · 15/06/2020 12:21

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing OK today.

I have a question. Has anyone repeatedly tested positive for COVID-19? I did make another thread about my experiences which you may have seen but as you are long sufferers of the virus I wondered if anyone had had repeated tests come back positive?

I SWEAR I had COVID in March, the week before lockdown along with my daughter, I think that I caught it from her. I'm pretty sure I spread it to someone at work.

My symptoms were breathlessness (bought an oximeter and was coming out at 94/95%, I now come out at 98/99/100%), chest, back and rib pain, acid indigestion, loss of appetite, headache, shivering, feeling cold, tired and generally blurgh. No temp or lingering cough. V v v stressful time at work would normally keep me awake at night but I slept like a log.

Symptoms present for 18 days at least. Went back to running after 4 weeks and it was bloody hard work. Not been the same since. I was marathon fit at the beginning of March, doing 18 miles regularly as I was due to run London in April.

I have the Zoe app and have been faithfully logging any symptoms (mostly none really) for weeks and week. On Wednesday it said to take a test as I logged stuffy nose, slightly sore throat and snottiness. All I believe due to hayfever, it does seem to be a particularly bad year for hayfever.

Went for a test on Thursday, 25 hours later I get a text telling me I am positive. Was v v v surprised. Track and Trace kicked in, all family and 2 friends who I had seen for a walk/run at a distance also went to be tested. All came back negative. Surely if I was actually positive now I would have passed it onto family at the least. We are all in the house together all day long, me and DH share a bed and bodily fluids! Would he not have got it?

So we are in self isolation again (we isolated as a family in March too). DDs 18th birthday today, poor love. She was hoping to have her boyfriend round in the garden for cake. Shes not seen him for ages.

I have read that some people can test positive for weeks on end. That your body isn't infectious but that you are still clearing the dead virus out of your lungs. My lungs were the most affected for sure. The test doesn't look for alive/dead virus only the presence of virus. I've been doing 70 hours per week WFH so it doesn't surprise me that my immune system is not up to much, I'm also stressed trying to keep a business afloat, deciding who to furlough and what to do next. DD totally recovered, younger immune system and was doing A' Levels so downed tools end of March and has been fully resting ever since!!!

Anyone know of anyone who has repeatedly tested +?

Sorry for uber long post!

AndsLee · 15/06/2020 12:26

@whatnext2018

I am also feelin cold...but then again I'm in the Scottish Highlands. I am welcoming it rather than a fever though. Maybe. Cold means less inflammation I suppose, but fever means getting rid of this germ.

The SOB. Yes. A weird one. It's not coventional. Ok, let me try and describe it. I feels like I get a sensation just to the left of my chest. Like a spasm with no pain. My diaphram gets tight, then the throat/soft pallate thing happens. That's when I feel I am breathing through dust. My breathing isn't laboured, just, not right. Like I have said before, like storing but awake. Occasionally I take a breath and it feels like the air goes nowhere.

@Whatnext2018
12.5 weeks from onset.
I got better 6 weeks in, more or less (tested negative). 7 weeks in I started the cycle again, although symptoms were milder and didn't last as long. Tested negative again on Sat. I think for me the telling week will be in 2 weeks time to see if the cycle starts again. This time though, yes had two weeks of feeling ok.

My partner will be returning this week, phase 2 will allow it. I am maybe a bit stressed that he catches it.

In my determination I am trying celery juice now. Loads of benefits.
Anyone has this book?

AndsLee · 15/06/2020 13:28

Hiya @Moodgie

Worth a shot! Let us know?

How are you doing? We seemed to be quite consistent with timeframe and symptoms. Do you still get the breathing through dust feeling? X

Moodgie · 15/06/2020 13:55

@andslee Yes, either that or a scratchy bottom of throat/windpipe. Still have morning nausea and toilet rush but maybe not as much this week fingers crossed. Sometimes still have red patches coming on my knees.

WotnoPasta · 15/06/2020 14:23

I had a great sleep. Feel totally shattered.

fedupofbed · 15/06/2020 14:28

I'm too ill and exhausted to post properly right now but can I say a huge thank you to @LetsBeSensible for your beautiful articulation on the other thread of everything I wanted to say but couldn't!

Rosesofeyam · 15/06/2020 15:41

Week 12/13

I am able to potter around the house and garden easier now.
I can manage doing things for longer between breaks up from 10-15 minutes to 20-30 minutes. It might not sound much but I can get more done without feeling so wiped out.

My main symptoms now come from trying to walk any distance outside.
I get very short of breath (like there's not enough air in the air).
My heart starts thumping (HR was 110,so okay) and then I have to sit down before my legs turn to jelly. I'm getting very frustrated by it.
I feel like a prisoner in my own home sometimes. I was hoping to go for my daily walk (shielding group) .

The headaches, dizziness, earache, diarrhoea only happens occasionally now, perhaps twice a week.

I don't think this humid weather is good for my lungs. I know having asthma doesn't help.
At the end of the day I'm still alive and kicking.Hmm

My stats this week, HR sitting is between 69-80 and moving around 90-120. SATS 97-99 Peak Flow 180-300.

I'm sending gentle hugs to everyone.(((((Flowers)))))

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 16:07

Does anyone get huge waves of nausea?

Sat on the sofa today and felt as though I was being pushed into it, really hard to explain, huge feeling comes over me, almost through the whole of my body, have to just wait until it passes, is scary.

Does anyone else get v emotional? I keep having little cries and hugging my Dd that little bit longer.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so awful @fedupofbed hoping it passes quickly for you.

So glad things are improving @Rosesofeyam

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 16:08

Sorry, just symptom checking, anyone also have pain/pressure at times around the rib cage?

@Whatnext2018 yes rib cage pain is one of my most consistent and lasting symptoms.

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 17:41

@Egghead68
It seems to be a recent thing for me, any idea what it means?

How are you doing at the moment? I’m guessing I’m going through a bad phase, as now looking back, last week before Friday, wasn’t too bad? Trying to see if there’s a pattern here.

Whatnext2018 · 15/06/2020 18:22

Ok have just been reading on one of the support forums about the falling asleep thing and then waking up abruptly.
I have this quite a lot and was something my doctor put down to anxiety.
Have just been reading it’s a form of happy hypoxia? When oxygen levels drop low and our body wakes us up. This can happen to me up to three times before I fall asleep at night and I assumed was some form of anxiety. Does anyone else have this or had it and it passed? Has been on and off for around a month now and hearing this just makes me more anxious to fall asleep 😢
Frightened of stopping breathing in my sleep.

TheWooisStrong · 15/06/2020 18:27

Had my ECG. Heart rate slightly raised but otherwise looked normal according to the nurse.
I have been feeling slightly better, my “covid” feelings have been less often, maybe once every day rather than 2/3 times a day.
I just can’t believe this had dragged on so long.
