Hi everyone, hope you are all doing OK today.
I have a question. Has anyone repeatedly tested positive for COVID-19? I did make another thread about my experiences which you may have seen but as you are long sufferers of the virus I wondered if anyone had had repeated tests come back positive?
I SWEAR I had COVID in March, the week before lockdown along with my daughter, I think that I caught it from her. I'm pretty sure I spread it to someone at work.
My symptoms were breathlessness (bought an oximeter and was coming out at 94/95%, I now come out at 98/99/100%), chest, back and rib pain, acid indigestion, loss of appetite, headache, shivering, feeling cold, tired and generally blurgh. No temp or lingering cough. V v v stressful time at work would normally keep me awake at night but I slept like a log.
Symptoms present for 18 days at least. Went back to running after 4 weeks and it was bloody hard work. Not been the same since. I was marathon fit at the beginning of March, doing 18 miles regularly as I was due to run London in April.
I have the Zoe app and have been faithfully logging any symptoms (mostly none really) for weeks and week. On Wednesday it said to take a test as I logged stuffy nose, slightly sore throat and snottiness. All I believe due to hayfever, it does seem to be a particularly bad year for hayfever.
Went for a test on Thursday, 25 hours later I get a text telling me I am positive. Was v v v surprised. Track and Trace kicked in, all family and 2 friends who I had seen for a walk/run at a distance also went to be tested. All came back negative. Surely if I was actually positive now I would have passed it onto family at the least. We are all in the house together all day long, me and DH share a bed and bodily fluids! Would he not have got it?
So we are in self isolation again (we isolated as a family in March too). DDs 18th birthday today, poor love. She was hoping to have her boyfriend round in the garden for cake. Shes not seen him for ages.
I have read that some people can test positive for weeks on end. That your body isn't infectious but that you are still clearing the dead virus out of your lungs. My lungs were the most affected for sure. The test doesn't look for alive/dead virus only the presence of virus. I've been doing 70 hours per week WFH so it doesn't surprise me that my immune system is not up to much, I'm also stressed trying to keep a business afloat, deciding who to furlough and what to do next. DD totally recovered, younger immune system and was doing A' Levels so downed tools end of March and has been fully resting ever since!!!
Anyone know of anyone who has repeatedly tested +?
Sorry for uber long post!
