Hi,

Sahm - what fun things do you do ??? I’m hoping to gain inspiration!!!

4 kids that dislike going outside for bike Rides /walks.
I really can’t be bothered sorting out toys / organisation - as that’s just dull.
Apart from watching the clock, Tv, eating rubbish and trying to get children to do maths sheets , read books , cooking and tidy up for them that’s all I do :-((((

Need some fun things to do - otherwise I’m going to go crazy as I can’t see an end in sight yet.

What’s the best things you do - that makes you happy ????

Thank you xxx

Not that easy to take out 4 children .... bit different than 1 or 2 children to “drag” out haha.

Although I was hoping what ideas YOU do as an adult .... kids seem fine - they are happy !!!! I’m just bored stupid haha

Some one / adult must have something fun that they do ????

Set up treasure hunts to get them running all over the house!

MissClarke86 · 05/06/2020 14:49

Jigsaw puzzles and puzzle books (the escape room type ones) for me

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 05/06/2020 14:50

Oh sorry - I read if they leave me alone for 5 mins

ifonly4 · 05/06/2020 14:50

Certainly get yourselves out, if not walks/bike rides, skipping, playing frizbee/kicking a ball around the field (even you!). Drawing silly pictures - not sure if it's got a name, the one where you fold paper in a concertina, all draw a face, pass it on and someone adds a body, then the next person legs - you end up with lots of odd people!

If you've got any that like reading or craft, making fun bookmarks for eachother. If you have an OH, suggesting the kids make something for him, and let them chose something for you to make as well.

If any like entertaining, how about they put together a show for you/OH, drinking, comedy, dance routine, or just being silly.

Zoom may give some of you a break, chatting to friends.

Don't forget me time for yourself. It's going to be cold and breezy tonight, but I've got some friends coming around to sit in the garden. They're coming armed with their drinks, nibbles and a blanket to keep warm!

Pavement chalk. It has kept my DD occupied for ages

ifonly4 · 05/06/2020 14:51

what am I thinking, singing not drinkingGrin!

frozendaisy · 05/06/2020 17:43

The "would you rather?" Books are great, brilliant conversations and debate, you learn so much about their imagination and philosophy, for example "would you rather it was day or night all the time?" .......instant answer "DAY" .....ok but then you never see the stars again.....much pondering some discussion we all still settled on day but had a much greater appreciation of what "night" gives us by the end!

frozendaisy · 05/06/2020 17:44

If they don't like going out, do you have Spotify, family disco, everyone gets X3 song choice, all dance around, god our kids have no musical taste .......BEIBER!

UnderTheBus · 05/06/2020 18:55

For the younger ones - sand pit, paddling pool

MissClarke86 · 06/06/2020 13:54

Guys she’s on about things to do herself, not for her kids.

LizzieMacQueen · 06/06/2020 13:59

Sewing. Bet you've got lots of old kids clothes, repurpose the material and make bunting.

Oh sorry things for mum to do. Things that make me happy, well happy is s relative term right now, but things that stop me climbing the walls, I sketch and paint, I recently bought a new power saw and have made two sets of under the counter kitchen shelves, I happily from time to time do a 1000 piece Jigsaw, leave it out and spend the odd hour chilling trying to put pieces together, I am attempting to master cryptic crosswords it's like deciphering code hard but small progress being made. I sew a bit, garden a bit and like learning new cuisine recipes from time to time, at the moment I am attempting to master a few Egyptian dishes. I cook whilst listening to the radio sometimes the nippers get involved as well.
