Visiting Ex To See Son During Covid-19

Does anyone know the regulations regarding visiting my son who lives with his mother during Covid-19 lockdown for this situation..

Me previous arrangement prior to lockdown was to see my son every fortnight over weekends doing a 600mile round trip, and staying at my ex-partners house for that weekend for a couple of nights.

Since lockdown occured I have not travelled to see him, but was considering doing this sooner rather than later but obviously mean's I'm not staying at my main home for a couple of nights.

The only other option would be to 'move him between homes' for the weekend, but that would mean 1200 miles of travelling!

If anyone questions you, you had a fight with a partner and had to leave and are staying with your ex partner for a few days to cool off.

That's allowed.

Reading this I'd say you are ok to do so.

Thanks for the advice and information @TheDailyCarbuncle and @Stressed75. I've managed to persuade my sons Mam to meet half-way and have a bit of a longer weekend at mine with him.
I'll be letting her see that Policing Regulation Policy though to hopefully put her mind at rest for future visits.
