Alok Sharma self-isolating, awaiting Covid19 test, gave statement in Commons today

This is appalling. I hope he isn't too unwell and makes a rapid recovery, of course, but this is on JRM and the PM. Those scenes from the Commons yesterday were just ridiculous and those MPs are now fanning out across the country going back to their constituencies.

Why the fuck did he attend if he had symptoms?

In todays Daily Briefing they were using words like "rules" and "prohibited"

Whats the betting they will switch back to "guidelines" again now.

It's fucking insanity that Rees Morgue has called them back when they had a perfectly workabke wfh solution in place. It's absolutely terrifying how dangerously inept/malicious this government is.

Tbh he didn’t look like he should he been there at that time. Whatever it is he looked very unwell

They expect workers to stop work and not get paid (sick pay isn't enough to cover peoples basic cost) if they have any of the symptoms and wait for a covid test, they expect people to stop working and not get paid if they have been in contact with someone that has CV..... But MPs have different rules evidently

If he is positive it will be a significant test for the contact tracers as due to this pointless spectacle he’s probably been in contact with far more people than most of us would have.
I don’t know why he didn’t just go home as soon as he felt dodgy though. Apparently he was in parliament and feeling dodgy on Tuesday too.
Hope he recovers but that JRM has a rethink. All his fault.

JRM doesn't act in a bubble, his wish to get Parliament back in again, would need govt approval, at the highest level.

At least we'll see what happens with our 'world leading test, track and trace' system. If he's positive then of course it'll swing into action, they'll all efficiently get phone calls from persuasive/clearly not fraudulent tracers and they'll all do their civic duty and self isolate. 😒

Just reduces the likelihood of someone who is infected and coughing having actual droplets land on you. Do people actually think the virus stops at 2m?
