Where the hell is my covid test results?

I can't cope with this awful anxiety anymore. We all had mass testing done on Monday where I work and everyone has had their results back yesterday and today but I haven't had mine yet. I'm getting scared that it means I'm positive and they'll probably let me know by phone. I suffer from dreadful anxiety and I know that what the results are won't change the outcome but why haven't mine arrived? It's meant to arrive by text message which everyone has got.

My mum, stepdad and brother had it done all at the same time - stepdad got the text after 48 hours, brother 5 days and my mum 7 days! All negative.

There are various possibilities about what administrative reasons there could be for your delay but logic would tell me that it would be more important to tell someone they were positive than telling people they’re negative. Plus the fact so many of your colleagues are negative should be reassuring . Again logic dictates there would be more than one positive in an operational workplace.

Try and put it out of your mind for tonight and chase it up tomorrow.

Tomorrow will mark 7 days since my keyworker dh was tested. Still no results. I am also a keyworker and therefore also currently unable to work. The system is a joke.

Mine took 7 days, DH’s 9. It felt utterly pointless bothering to drive to the test centre - as though we’d been used as pawns for the government’s statistics.

They wouldn't chase ours until after 7 days, either. Pointless if you’re trying to get back to work.

Hi all. Thank you so much for your replies. Managed to chase it up as still didn't get results after 3 days and thankfully it was negative. Absolutely unacceptable that they are taking so long for most people, especially keyworkers on the front line.

Its madness it takes so long as in the time you are waiting for the results you could actually catch it but a negative result over a week later leads you to think you are safe as are those around you

Does anyone know if there is a number to chase coronavirus test results please?
