While I completely agree with the sentiment, isn't the briefing coronavirus specific?

Yes Beth Rigby seems in a state of rage. Fair enough but it's nothing to do with coronavirus. BJ was already asked this question on PMQs by Ian Blackford.

I thought/hoped she (or someone else) was going to mention the lack of social distancing or does that not matter when people are protesting?

Agree this briefing is about coronavirus so her question should have been about social distancing on protests

I am a BAME person and even I thought the question, as it was phrased, was inappropriate.

I now think that the coronavirus daily briefings are no longer fit for purpose, given the inane and repetitive questions raised by the journalists.

They often don't seem to enlighten anybody and instead are used to inflame the situation.

The briefings should be ditched or moved to one or twice a week at most.

I'm not sure about reducing the frequency tbh. While I agree there's often not much to say, it feels like while we're in this situation and life isn't normal, the govt should speak to us at least once a day.

Well there is that :) when I have a meeting beyond five I do feel exceptionally peeved that I'm missing the briefing. However I feel its more about not letting the fact our lives are essentially on hold drop down the priorities list.

And people are dying
