Children, Coronavirus and Immunity

I dont know if anyone can shed any light/ insight on this but a question which keeps occurring to me.....It is said that children are not suffering with CV so much as they are often fighting this with their innate immune response. This is stronger in children I understand due to the fact they are constantly picking up germs/interacting with others. So by keeping them away from schools etc and keeping them in these sanitised environments, are we not potentially taking away their key power to overcome Covid? Is there a risk in a possible future wave that children could be more affected by the virus (and other viruses) due to 6 months in isolation and not using their immune systems in the same way. Interested if anyone has any thoughts?

I would also be interested in this topic, especially babies who have yet to fully form their immune systems.

All the newborns who have not even been out or hugged.
