To relax the two metre rule..?

I know views are very polarised on MN, but surely the only way to breathe life back into the economy is to reduce the two metre rule down to a metre from mid June or early July?

I guess this would rely heavily on everybody wearing masks and/or gloves and needs investigating as to whether or not 1 metre is actually sufficient distance?
I can see this would aid transport and workplaces, but not sure how safe it would actually be in practice?

The two metre rule is going to be an utter nightmare when I return to work in a couple of weeks.

The busses are only taking a fraction of passengers on our routes a dwp e been told that if the bus is full you have to wait for the next one. Rinse and repeat however many times necessary.

If it were relaxed to 1m with the proviso that everyone has to wear face coverings I'd be happy.

It may take some of us hours to get to work and bosses will only tolerate so much.
