Just read this in the Guardian...... any thoughts?

Only read half of it OP but I'm already thinking - fuck!
Could be a big story scandal, hard to tell at the mo how much influence it's had but even if small it's not looking good, is it?

Thanks for the reply - this does seem very worrying and I have read lots of links that suggest this apparent major source of data may be at the least unreliable and at the most utterly corrupt and fraudulent.

Whether it's alarmist scaremongering or there is some other agenda I'm not sure but I do think it merits a thorough investigation.

Hi OldQueen, I didn't realise until I saw the Guardian later yesterday that it was briefly on the front page, too! I trust the Guardian over things like this (not everything) and they have a very good track record with uncovering scandals, so the fact they front paged it for a while makes me think there must be some substance to it, but if there is they will keep digging I guess.
I didn't really get my head round it yesterday and I didn't want to get too caught up (trying to write a book!).
Will be interesting to see if it just sinks without trace or keeps popping up. Surgisphere. Not an easy name to forget! Terrible ugly word at the very least...

Ooo - look what's just appeared on the Guardian today at lunchtime ... they are ramping it up, so I reckon they're onto something (not read it - no time).
