Test and trace question

If a child has been playing with another child and one of them develops symptoms (or someone in their family), would their friends ie the other child they had played with be contacted by tracers?

If only the child develops symptoms, it's unlikely they'd get a test, because children usually develop such mild symptoms that they don't qualify, so no test, no trace.

If a family member has symptoms then the child may count as a contact, but only if that family member did have actual contact with the child IYSWIM and, of course, only if the infected person mentions that child.

Yes, the family of the other child would be contacted if the original child had a positive test.

If a child is infected and showing symptoms the whole family has to isolate for 14 days and get tested.
From the test the tracers will contact the family and trace those that they have been in contact with, ask them to isolate and get tested also.
