Shielding

Wales guidelines for those shielding has changed today so later tonight I'm going to take dc for our first outing since two weeks before lockdown.

Feel a bit anxious, going to go late on as hoping it will be quiet then going to keep it short for today as it's my first outing (and I suffer severe anxiety and paranoia) so baby steps.

I am going to walk to local shop let DS go in and buy some treats for dc and then walk home the long way.

You are not meant to be going in a shop if you are shielding. While you are now allowed to leave the house for exercise you should still be avoiding places such as shops where people congregate. Go for a walk but avoid the shop.

They said they're not going in the shop..

That’s lovely, enjoy your walk!

HappyReading · 01/06/2020 20:12

I hope you are ok OP and managed the walk, I bet your DC was thrilled.

Our DD is shielded too but due to being so unwell at present we will not going on any outings for the foreseeable.

I went on a walk I stood across the road while Ds went in the shop then he didn't touch me until he washed his hands. Dc were over the moon was lovely to get out going to go to a nearby forest tomorrow we love the Forrest and it's always quiet there hopefully it still will be.

@happyreadings I hope your Dd will be better soon.

I was anxious going out but feel better for it now.
