Imperial College/Ipsos study - results?

Just wondering how long anyone who/whose child was randomly selected for this study had to wait for their results?
My teenage DS had his swabs collected over a week ago now and we haven't heard anything. I've thrown the papers that came with the test kit out so can't check, but I have a feeling it said we would get his result in a few days. He's totally symptom free, as is the rest of the family, so I am not particularly worried but I would like to know the result. I'm beginning to wonder if its been lost.

Good question @MrsAvocet I had a test collected on Wednesday and was wondering this. The literature with the test said it could be a week for results. As my DH said, by which time you've mixed with God knows who and not isolated from loved ones 🤨

Indeed WhiteChocTwix
We haven't been out much but we have been on family walks, DS has done a few bike rides and DH has been out to do the shopping. I will feel bad if it comes back positive now but I wasn't prepared to make a totally asymptomatic teenager stay indoors all week just in case. We wouldn't have done that if he hadn't been selected, we would have just assumed we were all ok, so I didn't want to effectively penalise him for doing his civic duty by participating!

@MrsAvocet I hope your boy's test comes back negative 🤞it sounds like you've done as we have and been socially distanced without becoming a recluse. No symptoms here either and I've been to the supermarket once a week and we go on a daily walk in our immediate local area. Otherwise we just stay in. I wonder if less urgency is put on these research tests?

Dd took part in this, collection Sunday, results (negative) came by email and text on the Wednesday and a letter a couple of days later (2weeks ago).

BunsyGirl · 31/05/2020 16:21

Was 10 days for my DS’s result to come back.

My results came today about lunch time, Negative.

Thanks all.
Still nothing for us.
At this rate we will be beyond the 14 days for the rest of the family to self isolate, never mind the 7 for DS if he is positive! Glad to hear your result WhiteChocTwix

Well it finally came today - 12 days after he did the swab. Fortunately it was negative.
