I know I am very lucky to have a second home, which is in the area my parents and most extended family live in, about 100 miles from London where I live. So far we have not been there at all since lockdown started, in fact we were there the weekend before and were planning to come back, then lockdown happened so we didn't. I am now getting worried that we have not been there for almost 3 months and have no idea if the house is OK. Relatives have been past so it's still standing but I'd still want to go and have a look for myself. No one has a key (long story) who lives nearby.
Has anyone heard anything about when we will be able to visit second homes? I'm happy to wait as I know the local area won't welcome Londoners, but at the same time it's not good to leave a house empty for months on end. What are other people with second homes doing? It's a bit too far for us to go in a day and not really in the spirit of it all anyway. What are you doing if you have a second home or empty rental or holiday let?
