So many posts on here comparing the UK death rate to other countries.
People seem to be forgetting the point of lockdown was to slow down the hospital admissions and to learn how to treat the virus so more people can be saved in the long run.
Other countries may have lower death rates but it's still early days. It may come back with a vengeance (probably once inter national travel starts up again) and tiny Mediterranean islands with low death rates may be overwhelmed.
Only in 5/10/20 years time can accurate studies be undertaken to see which strategy / country had the best approach.
Until then the UK can not be shown the be mishandling the approach and those countries with currently low death rates aren't necessarily handling this better.
