School today has informed us that after taking key worker children and returning reception and Y6 into account there isn’t enough classroom space or teaching staff for Y1. No problem with this, it is what it is and they can’t magic up extra space out of nowhere. I can fully appreciate the logistics involved, it’s a small school and it is a complete nightmare for teaching staff.
My question though is what’s the plan for September to allow other year groups back in if social distancing is supposed to be staying in place for the long term? If nothing has really changed will they still be off school or is the thinking that by then enough will have changed to end ‘the bubbles‘ and enable class sizes to return to normal levels (30ish pupils)
