What the Government said in their last announcement that they would want/expect (roughly) the R rate to be to make the decision on opening schools? The rate doesn’t seem to have declined & I am sure I recall that they said they would only open if it was lower?

They wanted the R to be lower than 1 and miraculously today it was the first day it was between .7 and .9 rather than .7 and 1. Considering they think that easing lockdown, including opening school for more pupils will increase the R by .3 it is a brave (stupid) move.
