Seeing family who live far away

I feel like I’ll never get to see my parents who live 4-5 hours drive away.
I feel sick with anxiety about it.
If we went , we’d have to stay overnight and same for them if they came here. So it won’t happen Sad then I feel the R will go up again and we’re back to square one.

I can’t drive and it’s a 6 hour journey by two trains in normal times. Those trains aren’t running. Even if the trains start to run In the summer I’m not sure about getting on them. And I wouldn’t feel comfortable about staying with my elderly shielding parents when we get there. I’m feeling very overwhelmed and sad.

Same. We're two hours away.
I've mentally put it to bed and accept it'll be next spring before we all get together again.

They are old and ill and I don’t know if they’ll be around in a year.

meglet is that two hours by car? If you or one of your household drives that's very doable surely? I know people whose drive to work on a daily base is not far off that.
