Car Tax/MOT

My car was due its first MOT mid-June and I need to renew my car tax on 1st June. I’ve been trying to do it online for a few days now but can’t because the MOT is still showing as due mid-June (ie it’s not showing the 6 month extension to December). What do I do?

I bought my car tax online and its MOT was up in April. The form said I needed a valid MOT but when I did it it went through without issue. Does it reject your payment? I've also renewed a car tax in the past when the MOT only had a few weeks left and it still went though. Could you do it at the post office? Maybe an actual person can help if computer says 'no'.

IIrc, you can only extend the MOT for 6 months, within 3 days of when its due.

LOL at computer says no! I’ll try tomorrow.....have tried to just pay online and it bounces back to “check your MOT” page. Thank you!

Managed to renew the car tax today. Talk about last minute. MOT still showing as due mid-June.
