What leader of state could have dealt with covid better?

I've been reading about the state leaders and their cabinets who dealt excellently with covid:

  • Tsai Ing-wen
  • Jacinda Ardern
  • Angela Merkel
  • Carrie Lam
  • Sanna Marin
  • Mette Frederiksen

Any mums have ideas for leaders in the UK who would be good candidates for this now and going forward ? I can't think of any but I am not very good at the names of MPs. Would love to hear any other ideas from mums.

Well, from your list, it looks like you favour a female running the country in these strange times.
But quite frankly, with the exception of Trump, I think pretty much anyone could have done a better job.

I like Rory Stewart too, in terms of his presentation and communication style, though I don't know enough about his record to say really.

Labour government in Wales has been v uninspiring IMO, but I like Keir Starmer.

Theresa May
Maggie Thatcher
Rory Stewart
Angela Merkel

Yvette Cooper.

I'm going with pretty much any international leader other than Trump
or Bolsonaro. Let's be thankful for small mercies.

Difficult to choose from the current UK Parliament as there are so few experienced, high-profile MPs now I agree Teresa May would probably have handled it better as she seems naturally more cautious.

The cleaning lady?

Pretty much anyone.
Certainly May, probably Corbyn. Anyone who pays attention to scientists and health professionals and didn't go shake hands in a hospital in the middle of the pandemic.
