If it was okay for him to travel for childcare then why were people fined for travelling to get childcare?

Who actually went to hospital and why?

I cant seem to find an answer as to why their child went?

TabbyMumz · 28/05/2020 14:21

Trecasdic, they called an ambulance for their child and the paramedics made a decision to take him the hospital. His Mum went with him. He stayed overnight and he collected them in the morning. He didnt go in, he waited in the car. The child was tested, and came up negative.

Trevsadick · 28/05/2020 15:44

So they all came down ill, within a few days with something. All had different symptoms. And the child was so ill he needed medical attention.

At a time that people, including children, were only being transfered to hospital if they were all very sick. Because of the risk they might catch covid in hospital.

And his son became miraculously well enough to leave the next morning? Apparently, recovered over night? And the hospital weren't concerned enough to keep him in?

We took medical advice which was to call 999. An ambulance was sent and they assessed my child and said he must go to hospital.”

He added: “I could barely stand up. My wife went with him in the ambulance. I stayed at home.

"He stayed the night in the hospital. In the morning, my wife called to say he had recovered, seemed back to normal, doctors had tested him for Covidand said they should return home."

DC, himself, couldn't even stand the night before. But also miracously recovered enough the next day, to pick them up from hospital?

Wow! I wonder what they had, that makes you so ill you can't walk and yet entirely fit and well 12 hours later.

Is there any wonder no believes them?

TabbyMumz · 28/05/2020 16:04

It sounded like a bug to me. His wife had thrown up a few times but then started to feel better a few hours later. The child also threw up but then was better the next morning. He said hed felt sick. Very often people get bugs like that and quickly recover, it's not unusual.

itsgettingweird · 28/05/2020 16:23

Some stomach bugs can be brutal for just 4 hours or so.

I think MW and son had this. I totally believe Cummings had CV. He's have to be bloody lucky not to have done when everyone he worked with had it!

Doesn't make what he did right and him refusing to resign right though.

Trevsadick · 28/05/2020 17:19

So she was fine within a few hours.

So no need to go to Durham?

Sorry, but no. If you have a stomach bug for 4 hours that is that bad you can not stand, you at least feel weak after.

If the wife felt great, with a couple of hours his whole reason for going is bollocks.

You can't have it all ways.

It cant be the kind of bug that comes and goes in hours and you are immediately fit and well. AND be worried both of you will incapacitated. She was fine withon hours. No need to go anywhere.

I totally believe Cummings had CV. He's have to be bloody lucky not to have done when everyone he worked with had it!

Given the fact the PM had been diagnosed the day before AND that they had lots of close contact, he absshoild have stayed home.

The whole story doesn't make sense. At all.

itsgettingweird · 28/05/2020 18:51

Oh yeah the whole reason for going was ridiculous and not exceptional. But Ds streets state, ent said they believe she did have Covid which begs the question why he returned to work after going home to her. Confused

mrshoho · 28/05/2020 19:50

I agree this circus does not make sense. The fact that this incredibly clever man, with his finger on the nation's pulse, is up to ears in mud is suspicious. Someone asked what other options did he have? Well for a start more options than 99% of the country. He had the services of Downing Street a phone call away. I'm sure whatever he needed would have been delivered within the hour day or night. How many times were we told this virus is a mild illness for the majority. Him and his wife are under 50 and could have gone home (In London) and hunkered down with their Son surviving on soup, toast, cereal like the rest of us for a week or two. They could if feeling up to it ordered cooked meals from numerous restaurants available. From the statement he gave it seems clear to me there was no safeguarding issue. I get that he chose to do what he did and that's his right as a parent. What I can't accept is that Boris Johnson refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing and so the hole gets deeper the longer this goes on. He could have stepped down/resigned and stayed in the background for a while before remerging.

Trevsadick · 28/05/2020 20:25

The 'what options did he have' is pointless.

They had a bug that makes you so ill you can't stand, needed hospital admission for his son, but you recover completely in a few hours.

They didn't need an options. They needed to stay home and wait the few hours out. The son may have gone to hospital to be cautious. But he could have gone in London.

The wife would have been better before they even left.

Sounds like it lasted less time than a mild hangover.
