Face masks

I have to take a bus today, I am in London. Does anyone know if face masks are compulsory on buses? as I don’t have one but haven’t been on a bus in months so unsure of the rules.

I think face coverings are advised but you can use a scarf/bandana etc.

Don’t want to use a scarf as I only have winter ones and they are too hot, taking the kids aswell and no way will they wear scarfs
