Contact Tracing - Scotland

Have they started contact tracing in Scotland yet? There were 55 new cases in Scotland yesterday. 7 day rolling average is now 80. This needs to get going. Apparently Scotland will have 2000 contact tracers. That high a number doesn't matter. They could do contact tracing with a lot less. Some health boards in Scotland are getting no new cases reported.

Also, what level of daily cases do they want to get down to. Is Nicola wanting to get to zero cases. She doesn't mention this. If that is the goal she needs to state this.

I applied a couple of weeks ago, haven’t heard back beyond a courtesy email that said I should be able to start working within days - not a word since - checked website which says they’ve been overwhelmed with applications and don’t want any more . Dithering over phoning today to ask when I’ll know what’s happening !

It’s an absolute shambles to be honest. Scottish Gov need to get a move on with this. Nicola will have us all in lockdown for the foreseeable due to their incompetence

It is great that cases are coming down but I just feel it should have started alot earlier

She says it's starting on thursday.

No app. All very old-school with people physically phoning up contacts of people who have tested positive.

With such a sharp decline in cases though there's going to be a lot of staff twiddling their thumbs.
