whatnametopick, oh I never even thought of that. I hope they were talking about Cummings. We need a Spanish speaker.

greenlynx · 27/05/2020 11:22

We were always presented with DC’s image of a person who doesn’t care about other people’s opinions, about fitting in and about his career, who always tells what he thinks that why he’s got lots of enemies and who can go away in a flash if his ideas are not welcome. But now we saw ourselves that he wants to keep his position very much and can be patient and polite with journalists and ready to lie and bend the truth for this. So he’s not such a Robespierre as he wants to present himself. Neither he nor Mary want to go back to this farm up the North on A167.

janet1267 · 27/05/2020 11:27

They're not talking about Cummings - it's just subtitles that don't relate to the content.

1forsorrow · 27/05/2020 11:31

Still hilarious.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 11:31

They weren't talking about Cummings. Or even eyesight. I couldn't understand enough to try and figure out what they were saying though!

kissmewherethesundontshine · 27/05/2020 11:42

@itsgettingweird it's something about washing seafood in the sea I think originally, the subtitles are hilarious though...stevie wonder at stone henge GrinGrinGrin

whatnametopick · 27/05/2020 11:51

Still sums his story up though Grin

Roussette · 27/05/2020 12:21

Oh my, this is an excellent article.

www.politics.co.uk/comment-analysis/2020/05/27/the-failure-of-cummings-british-culture-war

We really are fucked as a country aren't we...

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 12:50

Rossetti I found that very interesting and informative.

numberplate23 · 27/05/2020 12:54

Roussette thanks, I enjoyed that article.
Tbh I'm sick of Dominic Cumming's name, his face and Boris, it's left a bad taste in my mouth but hopefully they persue this until fairness prevails.

SouthWestmom · 27/05/2020 13:03

Meanwhile MN favourite Rishi is tweeting about the good news Nando's is opening more stores. 'The good news we've all been waiting for' Tone deaf Tories

Lucywilde · 27/05/2020 13:33

@Noeuf I was disgusted at that tweet. They really can’t read public mood at all can they. Whilst the rest of the world look on shaking their heads at the complete shit show that is our government.

mommydragon · 27/05/2020 13:39

I thought BJ announcing opening of retail sector in June, was like throwing the dog a bone. Did he actually think the whole DC thing would go away if he announced that right after DC interview? That media would now start to run full time stories on how the various stories are preparing for their opening and take the focus away from DC.

SouthWestmom · 27/05/2020 13:40

Lucy it was just so tone deaf wasn't it. I need to start a new # on Twitter - Tone Deaf Tories

Saucery · 27/05/2020 13:43

The good news they’ve been waiting for because Covid isn’t spreading fast enough for their liking, despite the best efforts of DC to take it to the NE.

Roussette · 27/05/2020 13:45

So agree, yes. It's so bloody patronising 'here you are little people, we'll open a few shops for you. And Nandos. Aren't you lucky. Now leave Dom alone'

What I find interesting is that neither Boris nor DC apparently couldn't see that drawing attention to DC having an Islington townhouse and a family with a massive estate/farm that he can swan off to when he feels like it rather undermines their people v elite strategy.

FuckThisWind · 27/05/2020 13:46

No they really can't read the public mood. Do they honestly think that we are all so neanderthal and easily fucking bought that we will forgive and forget just by opening Nandos and Greggs? Twats! (that's the Tories by the way, although I don't much care for Nandos or Greggs either)

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 13:49

And whilst he's tweeting telling us Nando's is opening a front line nhs dr is on itv news saying how her and her colleagues cry on the way home from work looking at all the groups of people because no one realises how realistic a second wave is. And current behaviour is pretty much guaranteeing it. And begging people to take the lockdown seriously and stick to the guidance.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 13:51

Greggs is useless for me as I'm gluten free and I've never been to Nando's.

I did however remain at home and provide childcare to my disabled ds whilst suffering probably Covid .......

Nope Nando's hasn't changed my mindset and the story I'm interested in.

TruthTwisters · 27/05/2020 13:54

That article was excellent Roussette

Roussette · 27/05/2020 14:00

and scary Truth. This is what we're up against Shock

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 14:01

I'm not in Twitter. But I'd love someone to ask Rishi if that's Nando's in Islington or Barnard a castle Grin

bumblingbovine49 · 27/05/2020 14:02

That article posted by Rousette is excellent and very very depressing

Roussette · 27/05/2020 14:03

I replied to Rishi... this...

Is this a parody account? Must be so with that tweet! If so, someone needs to report it to
@RishiSunak

Oh hang on....

Grin
Roussette · 27/05/2020 14:05

Thanks bumbling

I told the journalist so on Twitter, and her and I have a bit of a twitter conversation.
