How, if the daily cases are remaining steady, are the death rates dropping so dramatically? I'm no expert so I'd appreciate some insight but the actions of this government of late have left me paranoid.

People who were most susceptible have either died or been adequately shielded by now.

Most people won't die, they'll be fine.

Because before most people who had the virus couldn’t get a test. Now there is more testing but a much smaller percentage test positive. The total cases is a really bad measures of true infections.

because the people dying now were infected a good while ago & we're testing far more people so detecting far more cases ... look at the proportion of positive tests now compared to mid/late March. There weren't fewer cases then but there were far fewer cases detected.
