Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

Ok, just to clarify...

I had a negative swab on 1 May, so I am definitely no longer infectious? My fella has been in the central belt since lockdown. I've been on my own, and would love for him to come home in the next wave of restriction easing...Sad

godhelpusall · 24/05/2020 16:52

Might be worth checking neuro section of slack

AndsLee · 24/05/2020 16:53

@godhelpusall that reassuring...

AndsLee · 24/05/2020 16:53

*that's

Mittens030869 · 24/05/2020 17:11

@fedupofbed I know what you mean. I'm so torn about whether my DD1 (11) should go back to school. I know that she's not carrying the virus obviously, as I've tested negative and she hasn't had any symptoms.. of. But I am concerned about my DH, who has asthma, and me too, because we don't know that I'm safe even now.

But DD1 would benefit from routine again and having an actual education. The school have been very careful with social distancing rules, and DD1 knows too much about social distancing after living with the illness in the home. I also suspect that she's very likely to have had it herself, without showing symptoms, as she very rarely gets ill anyway.

I would prefer it if they both could have antibody tests first, though (and me too).

Whatnext2018 · 24/05/2020 17:11

@godhelpusall Where’s that please? Sounds reassuring

Mittens030869 · 24/05/2020 17:12

DD2 was ill for 4 days with high temperature, chest pain and headache (and aches and pains), which is why I think DD1 is very likely to have had the virus too.

MelClare · 24/05/2020 17:13

@ MillStone Sorry your struggling with such crippling fatigue, I’m exactly the same! And although my breathing is better lately, my lungs also feel stuffy and wet. I’m finding that a bit scary!
@AndsLee and @Crayfishforyou, exactly! Stay Safe campaign all a bit depressing and too late for us!

@mumlurker interesting article about SARS victim you talked about.
I’m so sorry for you @Crayfishforyou “I'm not even existing anymore. I'm just a shape on the sofa and in bed. I can't sum up any emotion at all really.” You made me cry, I feel exactly the same! 😭
Even laying down I feel like I’m going to collapse or melt or something?! What is that? Is it exhaustion? I feel like I’ve got some sort of nauseous feeling in my entire body? In every muscle and under my skin? It’s feels creepy and feels like I’ve been poisoned or something?! 😱😰😭

mumlurker · 24/05/2020 17:23

@MelClare

I know that poisoned feeling well...I can't even describe it. It's not quite nausea, not quite dizziness, feels a bit like you've inhaled chemicals or something...just a feeling of accute unwellness

MelClare · 24/05/2020 17:26

@Whatnext2018 oh bless you about the falling asleep bit but you made me laugh...wtf?! 😜
I have the high heart rate in the morning too. When I do eventually surface in the mornings (from my horrible night in bed!) and drag myself downstairs, my heart rate is 115/120. I’m breathless, wobbly and my heart is racing! Just walking downstairs!!

alittleprivacy · 24/05/2020 17:29

I also seem to get more hay fever flare ups than before.

I've read up on this as I've experienced hayfever for the first time and worsened hayfever is normal after a respiratory infection.

MelClare · 24/05/2020 17:31

@mumlurker exactly! Accute Unwellness!

fedupofbed · 24/05/2020 17:39

@MelClare @mumlurker yup I'm with you on the poisoned feeling/ acute unwellness! It's all consuming.

Mittens030869 · 24/05/2020 17:39

@alittleprivacy That's very interesting. I've never had hay fever before, but I'm sneezing a lot now, so I suppose things might have changed. My cats' fur seems to be making me sneeze, which was never the case before. That would be very sad. (Not that I would give up my cats, as I'm a dedicated cat lady with 3 feline friends, but it would make me very sad if this was a long-term consequence.)

AndsLee · 24/05/2020 17:48

@melclare @alittleprivacy @mumlurker

Yep. The crawling acute unwellness. Why do I have Simon and Garfunkel's "hello darkness my old friend" in my head? Someone tell me the allergy feeling eases off a bit when your period finishes??

godhelpusall · 24/05/2020 17:56

Oh yes, the crawling feeling. It's a horror. I'm so fed up of it all. We need some support from somewhere for gods sakes.

godhelpusall · 24/05/2020 17:56

Are you all in slack?

fedupofbed · 24/05/2020 18:10

I am @godhelpusall I mostly focus on the victories!

There's also a Twitter and Facebook group #covid1in20 that I've just joined.

JackJackIncredible · 24/05/2020 18:29

Hello :) not checked in for a while. I consider myself mainly recovered. Following a respiratory appointment, I’m gutted that the pneumonia (never confirmed if covid or not) has caused further deterioration to my pre-existing lung disease. I am awaiting further tests and treatment.

Lightsabre · 24/05/2020 18:36

@TiddleTaddleTat, I'm on week 8 - I was self isolating for the first two weeks so my employers didn't count that. I then self certificated (3rd week) and have had sick notes since. I don't know when I'm going to be able to return - I think we get 6 months full pay then 6 months half pay. I'm worried about having no 'diagnosis' as such. Just hoping GP's can get up to speed with our sorts of cases. I would love to be back at work and leading a normal life. As it is, today I've done a 10 minute walk around the block, helped make lunch then had to lie down for two hours.

godhelpusall · 24/05/2020 18:38

Good news @JackJackIncredible on the recovery but sorry to hear about the lungs

Lightsabre · 24/05/2020 18:41

@JackJackIncredible, good that you feel recovered. Can I ask please what respiratory tests they carried out and what tests they'll do next?
@IamEarthymama, can I ask if the steroids helped please? I'm considering asking my GP for some to help with lung inflammation and breathlessness. Do you need to have tests first to see if they're suitable?

Lightsabre · 24/05/2020 18:49

@Whatnext2018 and @MelClare, my heart rate has been high on activity all the way through but has come down from 130+ walking around to 115 as long as I go slowly. My resting heart rate was around 95 but came down to 65 for the first time yesterday but is at 75ish today. Walking around I feel like I'm going up a very steep hill in 5th gear.

IamEarthymama · 24/05/2020 19:00

Lightsabre Yes the steroids do help when I take them but the effects only stay for a day or so
I am going to ask for anti-biotics I think as my sinuses have joined the party!!’

Reading other replies, big yes to the drawling feeling and the sense of impending dread
It’s all awful.

I have managed to get 4 plants in the border. It took me 2 hours and I had to have a sleep.

I will be in bed by 10pm again. My wife has been out for a socially distancing walk with a friend who lives alone and her dogs. I am glad for her to have some company, someone who isn’t constantly naming symptoms 😉😊

fedupofbed · 24/05/2020 19:02

@JackJackIncredible I remember you posting in earlier threads and whilst it's good that you now feel almost recovered, I'm so sorry to hear about your lung deterioration. I hope the tests and treatment you're waiting for will help.
