I’ve never been in such pain in my life as I have been today. My neck/throat is swollen so much I am unrecognisable. My throat is so painful I can’t eat swallow at all. Every bit of my body aches and is in such pain. My eyes head back legs everywhere. I don’t have a cough or a fever although I have had chills all day and Keep feeling hot then cold. Is this coronavirus? I’m assuming it’s just another nasty virus as it doesn’t fit with a lot of it.

I actually had thought I’d had coronavirus back in March and self isolated before lockdown.

I’ve only seen 3 people since restrictions were eased. And that has been outdoors socially distanced.

Has the swelling been all day? The first thing that came to mind is 'allergic reaction' when I read this. Either way it does sound as though you should call 111.

What?! No - it doesn’t sound like “it” but it certainly sounds like you need medical attention immediately!

Yes it’s bed. Swollen since I woke up. The glands are massive

Tonsillitis?
If you have an infection it can cause chills

Tonsilitus maybe you will need anti biotics or mumps? Take a photo for yr gp and email to them

Sounds like tonsillitis to me. Can you see white spots on your tonsils? The chills would be due to the fever bought on by infection

These are all exactly the same symptoms as what I used to get with every bout of tonsillitis. Had them removed thankfully 4 years ago.

Yes, I would say tonsilitis too. I was so poorly with it a couple of years ago. You will need some antibiotics.

It certainly does sound like tonsillitis. However symptoms seem to vary ridiculously in covid-19 cases. One friend (a carer) had sinus pain and another (nurse) had gastric symptoms. They were told by managers that they weren't Covid symptoms and should therefore work. They both (after a fight) arranged tests and both tested positive. I think people should be mindful about saying symptoms don't sound like Covid in case people don't isolate.

Thanks again all for your help. Gp phoned and said tonsillitis. He’s written a prescription for me to collect and told me to take ibruprofen which seems to ease the pain better than paracetamol.
