Hay fever or not?

This afternoon my throat all of a sudden feels really sore. I've had a look and can see what looks like raised lumps on my tonsil area.
I ache, my nose feels stuffy and I just feel like I'm getting a cold.

I'm really paranoid it's something more than hay fever. I have no cough or Temperature just a horribly sore throat.

My ears also feel sore if that makes any difference. I've never really suffered with hay fever that badly.

Take an antihistamine and see if it helps?

blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 08:57

I don't have any antihistamines in the house. I'll try to get to the shop today to get some.

I've woken up with a sore throat still and stuffy nose and I'm achy 😐 don't think I have a temperature though

Could you get someone to pick you some up and drop them off rather than going out potentially with symptoms?

blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 09:04

@winefortea yes good point!

I don't feel great I'm going to take my temp. Throat and ears are sore and achy, my body aches and my nose feels all stuffy.

My hayfever has just arrived so something new has obviously started pollinating but I can confirm that it’s itchy eyes and sneezing as usual nothing that would make me feel unwell. Does sound as though this might be something different OP.

blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 09:22

I'm not sure if I could get a coronavirus test. I'm about to start work as an NHS bank worker and DP works in education.

I must admit I'm slightly worried. I don't feel great and I've got up and my chest feels a little right and achy.

Longtime Hayfever sufferer here, currently have stuffy nose, itchy eyes and an itchy throat all normal symptoms for me. I've never suffered with any aches with hayfever so it's probably something else op. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 09:33

My throat is red raw and I feel generally unwell. Absolutely crapping it that it's coronavirus. My temp is 36.3

I've never had aches with hayfever.

I think anyone with symptoms can request a test now so go for it.

justhereforthetips · 24/05/2020 09:36

Absolutely crapping it that it's coronavirus

Only a small percent of people become seriously unwell, there's no need to panic. Even elderly people with health issues are mainly fine.

dementedpixie · 24/05/2020 09:36

Sounds more like tonsillitis

soccerbabe · 24/05/2020 09:38

another long time hayfever person here. it's not normal to ache with hayfever, sorry. don't panic, it could just be a bogstandard cold, but I'ld try and get a test.

Ilikewinter · 24/05/2020 09:38

That doesnt sound like hayfever...go to the nhs 111 website, you can go through your symptoms and it will tell you if they think its covid or not...and if they think you need to take a test

blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 09:42

I do feel like when your getting a cold and you just feel rough. I suffer with anxiety so the thought of it being coronavirus is making me mega anxious. Even the thought of a test makes me anxious.
I'll try the 111 website and see what it says.

OP posts:
blueblackgreen · 24/05/2020 10:24

According to the 111 site because I don't have a cough, temperature or loss of taste I don't have symptoms to be tested. But after reading on Facebook a government post about coronavirus and reading how people have tested positive without those symptoms it's got me worried.
