DS statement on Cummings is shameful

Basically I am sceptical about how terrible this could be to get for all of us - the mild illness stuff has been dropped as not helpful to the general lock us all up thing.

Regardless as a law abiding person I've stuck to the rules.

Which I thought meant you had to self isolate if you had symptoms and no, you couldn't go somewhere easier. If you had kids you all stayed in together, relied on deliveries or the local council support schemes and 111 if it was bad.

So I'm sickened by the knot tying in getting Cummings off the hook.

Where is Boris indeed? The question that has been on many people's lips for quite some time.

GrimmsFairytales · 23/05/2020 16:35

Bullshit that JH has no information about this case. Has she not seen the news at all today...

The80sweregreat · 23/05/2020 16:35

Boris is behind a sofa praying it's going well down there. News Bo jo it fucking isn't

FliesandPies · 23/05/2020 16:36

Does he really think we want to hear about some road-building project at the moment?

The80sweregreat · 23/05/2020 16:36

Let's hear about the roads and bike vouchers eh? That is important isn't it ?

SouthWestmom · 23/05/2020 16:36

Boris 18 March . No indication it was optional?

I want to repeat that everyone – everyone – must follow the advice to protect themselves and their families, but also – more importantly – to protect the wider public. So stay at home for seven days if you think you have the symptoms. Remember the two key symptoms are high temperature, a continuous new cough.

BJ is packing his suitcase for a visit to the White House.

...and it looks like you've lost Rupert Murdoch, so you've lost the war.

lilgreen · 23/05/2020 16:37

Shame on Boris putting GS out there to answer.

SpringBlossomIsBeautiful · 23/05/2020 16:37

Best daily update ever

The80sweregreat · 23/05/2020 16:37

' I'm off to see my family' said everyone today. Who can blame them ?

SouthWestmom · 23/05/2020 16:38

'My wife is unwell' - Shapps said it.
So totally flouting it. Arseholes.

This wasn't a 260 mile journey to visit someone. It was a 260 mile journey to stay put, then another 260 mile journey to come back again.

Glad we've cleared that one up.

ListeningQuietly · 23/05/2020 16:38

Gosh, I feel ill.
Time to go visit my Mum Grin

AnyFucker · 23/05/2020 16:39

Finally, the journalists are asking the right questions

OldLace · 23/05/2020 16:39

Yasss.... Keep it up - even the Torygraph is focusing on it.

Shapps is upset no one is asking about the A66 and his bike vouchers!

SouthWestmom · 23/05/2020 16:39

31 March - Cummings goes off home
5 April - Boris goes to hospital

It would be comedy gold if it wasn't so terribly important and people are dead or dying because of people not following the rules and doing what they like.
They will still get away with it

GrimmsFairytales · 23/05/2020 16:39

He was doing all the right things...

Apart from traveling 260 miles, whilst a member of your household was symptomatic

Daisydoesnt · 23/05/2020 16:40

I'm actually disgusted with the govt that they are backing Cummings. If Cummings and his wife genuinely believed that they had done the right thing, her article wouldn't have tried to make it out they self-isolated in London; she would have made it clear that they were in County Durham. They knew what they had done was wrong, and they tried to cover it up.

I am so angry. Millions of us have done the right thing over the last 9 weeks, when it has been so difficult and at such personal cost, because it was for the good of the country. And yet Cummings thinks he can do what suits him best. Shame on him.

Happygirl79 · 23/05/2020 16:40

I am absolutely furious that Dominic Cummings is getting support from the PM
This government is a joke
They appear to think that we are all gullable fools
DC must go!

mrsspooky · 23/05/2020 16:41

Absolute shambles. Great news everyone we havent seen for so long now can come and stay anytime they have childcare issues - even if they have symptons - as long as they come by car. Unbelievable. WTF do they think the rest have us have been doing with our children when we are ill - don't they have cebebbies? Its just so awful they cant even admit it was wrong and say it was a mistake to have done it.
