I keep seeing posters saying that they believe that this will be over sooner than we think and we will get back to normal quicker than we're expecting.

To those who think this, why do you believe this?

Genuine question as obviously that would be great!

Research. Looking at alternative scientific opinions. That the second wave has been. That vit d can knock it away, that if it maintains on current trajectory it will be done by end of Sept (research out today). Doesn't mean your an "armchair expert" just means you read and look elsewhere to man.

All them people will be still hoping for a spike. In fact I bet they feel disappointed that there wasn't one. They are doom gloom

Whenever I heard the word 'spike' I always think of Alan Partridge catching his foot on a spiiiike!

But yeah, they're going to be disappointed at the lack of a VE Day 'spike', just as they were with the abscence of an Easter 'spike'.

Don't worry, they still have the 'beaches being rammed' and 'commuters packed onto London tube like sardines' spikes to look forward to.
