Teething cough? Health anxiety bad

Hi all my DS 5 months has been coughing on and off since yesterday, it’s like an “ahem ahem” cough - no temp no signs of being unwell but very drooly and chewing on everything, he coughs when his tongues out too

He has barely been outside and hasn’t come into contact with anyone, me and his dad haven’t had covid-19 either.

I know it’s probably teething but I have severe health anxiety and I can’t chill out

Any reassurance?

My 6mo sprouted his first tooth yesterday and has been drooling like a rabid dog. He too has a slight cough like you mention!
Does yours have red cheeks?
My boy's are red and a little dry and I wasn't sure if this always happens or of it's due to him rubbing them?

He's probably coughing because of all the extra drool?

graceeyxxooo · 22/05/2020 20:41

thank you for the reassurance guys, he’s chomping on his teether and has very smelly slimy nappies so im thinking it’s the drool haha

Yep, all part and parcel of teething

@GetTheSprinkles - Red cheeks have been a classic teething sign for all 3 of my kids

Watch out for nappy rash too - the extra drool seems to trigger it.

@powerslidepanda Yes, he had the most slimy poo yesterday, it was bizarre!

graceeyxxooo · 22/05/2020 21:20

it’s strange isn’t it what teething can cause! slimy poos, coughing and being a moany moo! his cheeks aren’t too red today but they have been very red recently, he’s got a couple of spots round his mouth too

come to think of it he’s had hold of his ear recently, the teeth are visible as well but aren’t at the top yet, i can just see them at the front of his bottom gum, wish me luck ladies haha

Gosh this is me since this morning and I have been stressing out about covid too, my anxiety is up the roof but she has no fever or runny nose or congestion. Just teething and a cough! This has given me reassurance x

The monkey chew toy and anbesol liquid worked brilliantly with my DS to calm the pain at that age. Ibuprofen for the molars next year though.
