Is it OK to ask my cleaner to re-start (or not)?

Just that really.

I’m working from home but it’s got really busy and I don’t want to spend my weekends cleaning (which is why I got a cleaner in the first place). But I can’t decide if it’s safe to have my cleaner back at the moment? Obviously if I’m home when she is here, I would make sure we social distance, and I’d stay in my office.

Any thoughts?

Mine restarted last week too - they wear gloves and masks and we just stay out of the way. They are fab and it is very much permitted under current guidance if no one is ill etc

My vulnerable DF has kept his cleaner throughout - he stays in a separate room and she wears gloves and also runs errands for him.

I’d love to keep my cleaner but with 4 of us in the house it’s not a goer, especially since her other job is working in a care home.

Yes it’s pretty strange isn’t it that the house owner has said I can’t wear a mask. I also can’t listen to my audiobooks or anything while there. (With headphones) Time to tell them I’ve had enough I think.

Thank you for all the replies, I have asked my cleaner to return next week and she said yes! I haven’t paid her while she wasn’t coming to us, because my husband’s income was initially reduced, but things are picking up now. I will give her a very generous Christmas bonus though

My cleaner is restarting next week. We've paid her throughout and she's been really grateful as a single mum. I gave her the option, saying we would keep paying her whatever her decision, but she's keen to get back to work.

Ours came back last week. Shes wearing gloves, but no mask (her choice, I’m not fussed either way).

Social distancing is fine as we’re working so in the bedroom which she doesn’t do anyway, kids played outside for the duration.

As long as she’s happy I’m happy. And the house is clean again - over the moon!
