Our school is closed to kw children next week because the staff will be in setting up the rooms for 1st June., going through procedures and so on.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 22/05/2020 08:54

DH is off work as am I so it will be easier to care for DS without work to worry about. The weather looks good so lots of time in the garden, might invest in some garden games this weekend. We are in Wales so will do walks we can get to without driving but that isn't many as we live in a city. Will probably go to the garden centre too just for some variety.

OrangeSamphire · 22/05/2020 08:54

We will be staying at home and planting out seedlings.

Ordinarily we’d be on the beach which is right in front of our house. But not this year.

In the last couple of days it has become ludicrously busy. No social distancing. People pissing up against the sea wall. And I saw a dirty nappy abandoned in the sand on my dog walk last night.

Yester · 22/05/2020 08:55

We have a holiday booked in Cornwall. Very sad to be stuck at home.

pfrench · 22/05/2020 08:56

I'm not on rota for key worker children in school next week, and won't have to spend my afternoons and evenings tearing my hair out over trying to plan and record lessons, so I'm going to have a nice relaxing week with my child. Partner has 4 days off too, so neither of us will be sitting in the office with headphones on.

I've got a week in Cornwall planned at our own place, but we're not allowed to go there yet.

bookworm14 · 22/05/2020 08:56

No plans - just the usual staying at home sinking into quiet despair, just with less schoolwork.

We were supposed to be in Tenerife. Sad

azaleanth90 · 22/05/2020 08:59

Leave my teen to their own devices so I can catch up on all the work. Definitely a proper half term here, no schoolwork - they really appreciate not having any set things to do. After a few days I will start yelling about screen addiction and try to make them go out. I dread to think what summer will be like.

hopeishere · 22/05/2020 08:59

Not half term in NI so just a normal week. Have Monday off. Mooted taking the kids to a local beach but DH not keen. Might go anyway!

Pipandmum · 22/05/2020 08:59

Our school will be open for key workers as it has been through out Easter break. They will also be making the changes necessary for the tearsxallowed to return plus part tme return of Y10 and 12.
We will continue to abide by the rules - I am meeting a friend for a dog walk (on the beach as we live near it) for the first time since Match. My daughter will be having a welcome break from fill time online learning. My son will be going a bit stir crazy still (no college, no job, no gym). We have a pool and will be enjoying that!

hopeishere · 22/05/2020 09:00

@azaleanth90 I'm dreading the summer too.

HeadPotato · 22/05/2020 09:01

Does the Pope shit in the woods?

Deelish75 · 22/05/2020 09:07

The weather is supposed to be nice next week, especially the first half of the week. We’ll probably head to the park in the mornings. Then after lunch the kids will probably play in the paddling pool.
Might also go for a walk along the river. We’ve not been down there for weeks so not sure how busy it’ll be.

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 22/05/2020 19:53

Does the Pope shit in the woods?

if no one is there, who would know? Wink

Teacher here - no school work. Most definitely. Other then planning for teaching live lessons and only if I can be bothered to think about it. I've asked for a piece of equipment to help 2 weeks ago and no response as yet. I will spend the week being pissed off with my own teenagers who have regressed 5 years into sulking mode.

MrsLindor · 22/05/2020 20:18

I was planning to take a few days leave (I'm working Sunday and Monday) but I've got too much work to do. I don't usually work weekends so days, weeks and months are all just blending in together. I need to book a full week off at some point, even if we can't go anywhere. I've gained more days annual leave by working bank holidays than I've taken since this all kicked off (NHS).

The dog is finally getting groomed, that's the highlight of the week.

TabbyStar · 22/05/2020 20:20

I asked Dd what she wanted to do and she said go to the tip. I guess it will be a change from staying at home Confused

Grasspigeons · 22/05/2020 20:24

We are each picking an activity to lead and we will camp in the garden. One son is doung a treaure hunt. I dont knkw what the others are doing. I'll do a craft.

UnderTheBus · 22/05/2020 21:03

We are going "camping" in the garden, provided there is enough room to put the tent up.

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/05/2020 21:32

3 days of work for me. children and DH off. Will be trying to catch up on admin too as it may or may not get even busier come June 1st depending on what Boris says on the 28th.

I will also be trying to sort a few bits for home schooling as neither children will be going back this year sob

I'd like to go for a walk somewhere different, but we won't be rushing off to the beach or the lakes or anything like that... maybe just a different local park.

Oh and DH has some painting to finish off.

GoneFishingAgain · 22/05/2020 21:38

I'm in Scotland - so no public holiday, no half term and no easing of lockdown until Thursday.

Same old, same old here. Counting down 5 weeks til summer holidays and no more home schooling!

lljkk · 22/05/2020 22:13

All the days, weeks and months just blend into one now

^ That. I have plenty things to do around the house. I'll try to get the kids out for fresh air every day.

lynsey91 · 22/05/2020 22:24

Me and DH will be doing what we have done for the last 9 weeks - staying home.

We may carry on with decorating or, if the weather is nice, do some gardening. If not I might crack on with reading some of my 70 odd unread books or knit or sew or do my online French course.

Plenty to do

TheGreatWave · 22/05/2020 22:41

Brie I am sure your sense of direction is as bad as mine and having no idea which way is left or right there is always a chance I could end up somewhere I wasn't intending to. Wink

Half term though - I will be working, usually I would have taken a couple of extra days off, the weather is forecast to be lovely so a trip to the beach would have been on the cards. Instead I hope they have fun in the garden.

Catsmother1 · 22/05/2020 22:49

The same as this week, and last week, and the week before......

GalesThisMorning · 22/05/2020 22:59

@AnneBullen I hear ya Grin

DH got unreasonably cross with me when he asked what I'd like to do tomorrow... oh I don't know, go for a walk?

He told me I'm not trying hard enough lol. I think 9 weeks of going for a walk has finally got to him. So to spice it up a bit we'll be going for a walk to the chemist where one of us will duck in for DS's inhaler. That is clearly a different activity altogether from just a regular walk, and seemed to pacify him...
