For those of you with DC at boarding school, do you think they will go back in September??

Hopefully....

Watching this with interest, I can find very little information about this

sofato5miles · 27/05/2020 04:51

Possibly because it is so far away and we need to see how everything plays out

Interested to see what happens with my DS who is going into year 10 at a boarding school.

Wilkolampshade · 01/06/2020 07:27

Mine's just 'left', (year 13) but some (very few) year 6 back in today....
School saying definitely will open to all students September. Has been including new students in online lessons and gatherings etc.

Ds school has had boarders (weekly ones) all the way through. I think there are more boarders arriving today. Ds is a day pupil though and has therefore been at home - back today as he’s Y6.

(Day pupil at 90%boarding)

So far they seem to be saying school will be back as 'normal' in September, but I'm not counting on it. Fortunately it doesn't really affect us, only in that if it's not, it'll be continued 'live Teams' at home. But it's been brilliant so no worries there.

Given the Govt seems to have moved into 'ignore the science' chances are high that they'll say 'kids back to school' irrespective.

Ours is largely international boarders so I'm not sure how many parents will be wanting to send their kids back to England and it's worrying that those who do will probably be from 'high risk' areas - it's a worry I'm shoving down the list at the moment. Too many unknowns.
